  1. In Australia, Korea taught us how to pronounce the car company so we learned Hyundai as “he-yun-day”. When the cars first arrived here, we were using the Japanese pronunciation method and used to say “High-oon-dye”, which is when the Korean company stepped in to help us get it right. The “y” is actually pronounced while being crushed up against the “he”. Think of the karate cry, he-yah! Hyundai.
