  1. Roads in the US are designed for cars. Roads in many parts of Europe and UK are not. They can be thousands of years old, they were pathways for walking or riding a horse or a small cart pulled by a horse. Adapting them for cars means people need to use common sense as well as know the rules, written and unwritten. Don’t drive in Europe until you have become used to how things work! It’s like Europeans visiting America who think they can walk to the shops, something they do frequently back home.
