  1. Peanut oil is healthier than vegetable oil. There’s some strong evidence that vegetable oils and margarine can lead to macular degeneration. Small amounts of butter and healthy oils such as olive oil and peanut oil, were safer options. I asked an eye surgeon about this years ago and he confirmed that it was the consensus, but to then be mindful of our heart health when choosing butter.
