  3. It bothers every girl named Carmel. Caramel has an extra pronounced A. English originated in England. Australians speak and spell in English. American English has been altered from the original, probably as a revolt against the British army being in the US.

  4. Moving to Australia is very difficult. Come for a holiday and while here, make enquiries through the immigration office. Do NOT bring your paperwork with you because that will look like you intend to overstay your visa and your entry could be refused. Just a holiday and gather information on what it would take to migrate. If you can get a job with an American company and transfer to their Australian office, that can work, but if you’re coming out of college, your limited experience could play against you. It depends on whether the job you want can be filled by an Australian citizen. They won’t let you take jobs from Aussies. Find a niche market.

  6. If you say the name of the country, that’s the basis for naming the people from that country. So, America, Americans. Australia, Australians. Italy, Italians. Scotland, Scottish. Etc. If unsure, pronounce it the same way as the people from that country.
