  1. Aussies don’t need huge ovens because we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Sometimes the double oven is one oven and a microwave below it. Most Aussie stoves have four burners/hotplates.

  2. In Australia, it tends to be the old houses that have eight and ten foot ceilings and the newer builds have seven foot ceilings.

  3. Our houses are measured in square metres. Most TVs are made in Japan so they still use inches, from 32” to 85”.

  4. The master bedroom has those short doors which lead to a storage space in the triangle under the stairs. Why waste it! 😃🇦🇺

  5. Queenslanders are my favourite with the verandah all round the house. They’re all the way up to Cairns.

  6. As I commented in the other video, upper cabinets are a personal choice, because some people don’t like having to lift heavy things above their head. Ours came with the house but Mum never used them because she was afraid of dropping things, plus she was five feet four inches and couldn’t reach them safely.

  9. Ian, take a trip through Aussie houses! Google Australian federation homes stained glass! Scroll through the images! Also google Queenslander homes and scroll through those images as well. They’re all elevated against the floods but as wonderful” as you could possibly imagine!
