  3. Garry McDonald is an Aussie actor who developed the character of Norman Gunston as a comedy character. He always played the character as straight and allowed the comedy to come from the interviewee’s responses.   4. Australia has the annual Logie Awards for best television performances and shows as voted by the people of Australia. The name Logie comes from John Logie Baird, the inventor of Television. The biggest prize of the night is the Gold Logie! Michael Weatherly was invited to be a presenter one year, and not knowing anything about Aussie TV, he got a friend to send him everything he could find on the most relevant shows and actors. By the time Michael was on stage, he knew more than many people watching the Logies, calling the actors by name and commenting about the shows etc! Any nicks would bleed so they applied a tiny bit of styptic wool to each cut to stop the bleeding. Once it stops, you can remove the styp wool but Norman was usually still wearing bits during his act. LOL!
