Halva is delicious! We can buy it in our supermarkets and in delicatessens. “Halva, or halvah, is a Middle Eastern dessert very popular in Israel, Greece, Turkey, and many other countries. Made with tahini and honey or sugar, it's sweet, nutty, and has a crumbly yet soft texture. It is often served with coffee and makes a delicious afternoon snack!”

In Australia, we have Ribena too, but it’s not your average drink. It’s a syrup (usually) which you dilute with water. It’s rich in vitamin C because of the blackcurrants. Blackcurrants are banned in the US because they impact some specific type of tree you have growing there. However juice and candy flavours can be blackcurrant. Ribena is great for boosting adults and kids’ immune systems against colds and flu. AUD$7.40 per litre in the supermarket., whereas a 2 litre bottle of Fanta is AUD$3.40, so you can see it’s not just a soft drink.

Do they sell fresh blood oranges in the US? Blood oranges are generally sweeter and less acidic than regular oranges.

Ian, have you tried Bundaberg’s Burgundee Creaming Soda yet? I’d love to know your reaction to that!
