  1. Back in the early 80s, when I was working night shifts, I would come home and turn on the Tv to relax and u wind before going to bed. One of the things I discovered from doing that was the Indy 500. I watched it each year for about three years. One night I came home and thought I was about to watch another Indycar race, but soon discovered it was something called Formula One. I watched the whole race and was totally hooked! I haven’t watched an Indy race since then! F1 was so much more interesting and required many more skills because there were no oval tracks! Not long after that, I started driving down to Adelaide every year for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix. I stopped doing that when Nelson Piquet retired due to serious injuries. Oddly enough, those injuries were not from Formula One but from an Indy race he was invited to enter! Formula One was so much safer than Indy. He broke both feet in Indy but only ever had minor injuries in F1.
