  1. I love magpies! https://youtu.be/KqSbDcks_uA I’ve never been attacked by a magpie in my entire life but if you walk under their nest, they’ll swoop at you to chase you away from their babies. It’s only for a few weeks in the spring. Just avoid the gum trees where you notice them hanging out. Otherwise they’re friendly, they warble beautifully like no other bird on the planet, and they eat bugs and spiders around your home. They are also excellent mimics and will interact with you if you look friendly.   2. Ian, you’re a Dad. If someone was threatening your home, wandering onto your property, would you not chase them away to protect your kids? Of course you would! So if a magpie should happen to swoop on you, cross the road and ride well away from the nest. That’s all he wants is for you to go away. Swooping twelve times?
