That bird is an Australian Magpie, yes, the same type that swoops you for two weeks in the Spring when you get too close to their nest. However if they live in the trees around your house, they know you and you will never get swooped. They’re actually friendly!

Pineapple fritters are very readily available in Australia. They’re a throwback to the Chicken Maryland era and are still popular. I love mine dusted with cinnamon and sugar! The perfect dessert with fish’n’chips or chicken ‘n’ chips. By chips, I mean the full ones, because the skinny ones that Macca’s has, are full of grease and inedible when they’ve gone cold. Good chips can still be enjoyed cold and not be full of grease! The more surface area of the potato that’s exposed, the more fat is absorbed, so bigger cut chips have less grease, which is why Aussies love potato wedges too!

It’s whingeing, not winging. Red Rooster is delicious!

@terencemcgeown2358 Really? I’m on a tablet so the image is tiny, but the bower birds I’ve seen are thicker than a magpie. OK, I went to the section of the video, paused it and enlarged it. The bird is slim and definitely black and white, so unless that was your house, I beg to differ. Satin Bowerbirds are stockier and all one colour.

@ianmontgomery7534 Exactly, but if you cut a potato into 75 chips, you expose a lot more of the potato to the hot fat, and thus you consume more fat than a potato cut into 12 chips.

Ian, when you come Down Under, you and your kids will need lots of sunscreen, cotton broad brimmed hats (not baseball caps), anti UV shirts, sunglasses and jeans, all to protect you from the Sun and the hole in the Ozone layer. Protect your skin and eyes and head!

@keefykicks To be fair, I haven’t eaten it for eight years due to being put on a low sodium diet. Many of my favourite foods have been removed from my diet, including Red Rooster’s barbecued chcken.
