  1. Thanksgiving in Europe just tells me that Americans don’t understand why they celebrate Thanksgiving at all, the history of it and how it came about and so on. If they did, they would know it’s an American holiday and nothing to do with the rest of the world.

  2. Even Americans need to learn English! As do the British, Australians, etc. It’s taught in primary schools in every English speaking country.

  3. Selfish: I think what she means is that if they say Indiana and she doesn’t know which country that’s in, she then has to ask where that is and it’s embarrassing and thoughtless on the part of the American who assumed too much.
