  3. This has caused political bonanza for Putin - he can now get even Free Russia guys on board defending their own home. I.e. in time of danger people support the government. His popularity and reasons for war gain more traction. Internationally even more so - Russia now can point finger at "we fight on their side, they fight on our side". Its a total suicide by Kiev. Total desperation.

  5. Exactly - they totally blew their chance in the beginning and then after success at Kharkiv. Now all we do is wait for them to totally commit suicide with an offensive after which they will be spent.

  6. Exactly - but attack now means suicide. They are prolonging the war in hopes of a miracle. I mean all news channels say they are winning - how would it look if they just surrendered now? They walked too far - they seem destined to go out with a bang.

  7.  @Hipporider  Nah, look at their entire history - they were richer than Poland at the start, country of 54m - all they did was go down and down and down. Now over 10m people left officially more unofficially. No economy of any kind. Losses in people are much, much higher percent wise than Japan or Vietnam - they are even higher than world record holder Poland. With track record of going down.

  8. The offensive will face well trained, well fortified and well equipped Russian army of about 200,000. Given that this is the last hurrah by Ukraine, Russia can throw a lot of resources. Once offensive is crushed or simply runs out of steam - or even when Ukraine commits its forces, Russia will be able to go on a counter. They have more than 2x as many forces in Ukraine as before. Ukraine has significantly less equipment. Defense in depth is well setup. Morale is good or even excellent - now that it gotten a boost from seeing Russian villages burn and Nazi kill civilians with impunity. Logistic very strongly favors Russia - like more than anything else really.

  9. I really like UK intelligence update - Russia attacks all over the front and they say that they lost initiative. One should read them backwards - i.e. the opposite what they say is true. Ukraine raids into Russia are a clear sign of desperation. They make no other sense. Even PR wise they are short gain for long term gain - they ensure that Russians will harden around Putin as well as serve to undermine Ukraine internationally. Why such moves then - other than total desperation and need to escalate n hopes Moscow does something stupid?

  11. That would mean Ukraine is smart - but they are not. They will attack, they will loose and Russia will counter. By the time west forces them to the table Russia will have 1/3 of the country.
