  1. So west sends troops to Ukraine. But they don't have enough troops to matter. And when they get defeated it will look very, very bad. Also at that point China may move to more active support.

  2. There will not be any long war. Ukraine lost. Russia will win. EU and NATO are unable to exit with saved face. Western states cannot keep rest of the planet under their foot. They stand for freedom. And freedom cannot easily be contained now when it has powerful friends. Maybe these friends are not exactly interested in freedom, but this is a nice side effect.
