Facts on the ground say exact opposite. Soviets invested heavily in air defense - same as with Russia - so establishing any air superiority and using air power by the west would be a distant dream. Look at Ukraine with their old Soviet era equipment. They were able to prevent any Russian adventures now for around a year. 100s of systems destroyed by the Russians - but still 100s operational. Strongest air defenses entirely in Europe - making countries like Germany look weak by comparison. Now imagine how strong are Russian more numerous and more modern defenses.

The smell of defeat. The reality is slowly sinking in that Ukraine lost the war. Something normal people knew from like month #3.

@timothywright2953 Yeah, too bad they are Russia's friends or allies as well ;)

@giovanni-ed7zq LOL, what modernized MiGs??? These are old planes not modernized for decades. They are slightly upgraded from basic A variant from 1980. To see what JDAM can do just look at Ukrainian positions that Russians are attacking with JDAM. Heavy use near Adiivka now.

@timothywright2953 Actually it is quite impressive - notice that only 13% of the planet placed sanctions on Russia and almost all anti Russia UN resolutions (full assembly) have failed.
1
@giovanni-ed7zq Actually JADAMs are cheaper - Russian kit is under $1000 so I doubt US kit is 20x more. Ukrainians are preparing what exactly? In Kherson it was epic Ukie defeat! 100s of vehicles destroyed, 1000s killed. And they hit Russian radars with what exactly? Super slow HARM missiles? And what do Russians have, HARM missiles that are 4x the speed of US junk sent to Ukraine.

The only game changer I see is direct NATO involvement. Without NATO troops on the ground and in the air there is zero chance for any Ukrainian victory - even one where front lines as they are now are frozen. Russia is easily brushing aside Ukraine without breaking much sweat.

@misc376 Ukraine started the war with 1000 tanks, and over 2000 tanks in storage out of which they clearly could bring out 1000. They also received over 600 tanks from NATO.

Yeah, so all Russian side - Russia has the artillery and lots of mines.
1
@giovanni-ed7zq But Russians are using JDAMs - they are crushing Ukrainians with them, not the other way around.
1
@giovanni-ed7zq Exactly - poor Ukies - most of their artillery got smashed and now have to rely on 105mm junk from US. These Russian glide bombs, precision Tornado strikes and long range Mista Bm artillery are going to turn them into even more meat. Ukies no longer have Turkish drones btw, you did not hear of any use of them for many, many, many months now ;) Face it, Ukies lost the war long time ago, they cannot sustain the losses in man power nor equipment.

@freemanreed5228 No. There are absolutely not T-34s in Russia - they had to import T-34 for parades from Asia like few years ago! In Belarus there is a law prohibiting their export. So no, you will not see T-34 ;)

@td6460 Really? I see them gaining ground now every day! Check out the maps! Also epic losses on UA side.
