Even if they do that now what - a lot of terrain is marsh land and there are multiple smaller rivers. Even if that was taken care of, now what? They need ammo, fuel etc. Building bridge is nice and all but you will realize that Russia with its superior missile forces is going to have far easier time taking these out than Ukraine did.

@rainman2222 Russians have far and wide better tank crossing ability that Ukraine. So what - tank crossing of water body for brand new T-90M which Russia has 100s of is not easy. You not only need to setup the snorkel system but also find a suitable spot to cross. For western tanks it is nearly impossible in real life - i.e. you will not see Challenger 2 cross a deep river 99.99% of the time. All immersion training for Russian tanks is done in concrete channel. The seals are of least worry of the tankers.

That would be very risky. I think main Russian strategy is to remove Ukrainian operational forces via idiotic offensive and once its done crush Ukraine with a counter they cannot deal with.

Both sides are waiting for Ukraine offensive. Ukraine crossing the river is a diversion. They could not kick Russians out when they did not have a river defense. Now with a river defense they want to kick them out? LOL. It would need to be an epic mistake by Russian command to allow Ukraine some success there. As to Russian logistics - they are good. Come on, Ukraine fires 5x less artillery shells and people say they have good logistics ;) LOL!
