  1. Poland had its own mine laying 2000t+ ship - ORP Gryf. It was armed with 5in guns and was a lot slower but could carry up to 600 mines(!). It was ordered for the role of mining Baltic sea against expected war with the Soviets. The whole Polish small fleet was all ordered up to face the Soviets. The war with Germany was not expected when ships were ordered.
