  1. Russian actions were legal under rules of war. Ukraine were not.

  2.  @hognaut  War is a state not an act and thus it does not exist in "legal" or "not legal" sphere - same as weather. One can argue that legal war is one approved by UN security council - but that would make almost all wars illegal post WWII ;) So I argue UN here is useless.

  5.  @hognaut  There are virtually no wars since WWII that did not. So this makes the UN irrelevant. Also Ukraine is violating UN charter on the rights of people to decide their future. So what?

  6.  @hognaut  From which perspective are you looking at it? From Russian? Certainly right. From Ukrainian, certainly not. From position of Tolstoy view, war is just a tragedy; From Clausewitz view, its just an extension of politics.

  7. They are not. Ukraine is using dumb artillery to shell city center. Russia uses smart missiles.

Also, Izrael is using smart ammo, yet they kill 10x as much - possibly b/c they use only 60% smart and 40% dumb... that 40% may be responsible for deaths. You forgot lessons of WWII where 1000s died in a single bombing raid. You forgot how US fire bombed Tokyo and killed 100,000 in a single raid. THAT is when you target civilians. Do you see millions of Ukrainians killed? Provide evidence.
