  1. Main mistake of Argentine was that the attack was planned more like a spur of a moment thing due to at home situation. They did not believe that the British will try to take these islands back from so far away. They thus did not prepare defenses well. They did not stock pile anti ship missiles. They did not try to build military airport on the island. Etc. Etc. Etc. lots of mistakes. I mean who would use poorly trained & motivated troops to defend the islands knowing they will face the very best UK has? If done with half a brain Argentina should have easily won this war.

  2.  @rick7424  Why would you send conscripts with supposedly little training - if they planned the operation little they would have had better troops available for a limited #'s deployment.
