@roberthansen5727 The allies never planned to help Poland - its true - they used Poland to weaken their enemy & to support their own goals. Polish decision to position army west of Wisla river - as opposed to behind the river was politically motivated and was insurance against possibility of Germany taking half of Poland and allies not declaring war on Germany due to low Polish resistance. Polish units were to fall back to the Wisla line as war progressed while towards the end they were going to Romanian bridgehead. This was a good plan based on attack by the allies on Germany. Not only attack on Germany did not materialize (the tiny French invasion is a joke) but Poland got invaded from the other side by the Soviets on 17th. The western allies keep repeating the lies of Poland was lost in 10 days or similar - even Polish enemies - see Soviets - did not think so. They attacked on 17th after they cleared peace treaty with Japan on 16th - which BTW was very friendly with Poland so much so that later on Japan rejected Polish declaration of war against it. When it became clear to Polish command that west will do exactly nothing & Soviets invaded full force major defensive formations started to surrender as there was no point fighting a lost war.

Exactly - Poland had planned for 1.5m army with max strength of 1.8m. It only had 1m. That extra 500,000 troops is not trivial amount.

This is factually incorrect. 2:49 the desperate counter attack was the most successful counter attack against Nazi forces till 1942/ 1943 winter. Battle of Bzura did not used "disorganized units" at all - it used one whole army that did not even see any fighting! How could they be disorganized if they did not even see any fighting!

There were hints of this "we shall never help" already from UK in May of 1939.

I am sure they also don't mention that Sweden taken from Poland more goods then anyone else in history. Compensation would be many times more then WWII damage by Nazi Germany. Not only that, a lot of stolen stuff from palaces is known.

@TrueBren it moved Poland back around 100 years. So more then WWII which is 60-70

@roberthansen5727 It is not a myth at all. And its not Eastern Europe - its Central - center of Europe is around Warsaw. Germany had only 3rd rate divisions in the west, no tanks and almost no aircraft. You cannot do this "were able to ship divisions back West soon" as all German army was involved in Poland and you cannot just ship a division - even today, over 1000km. Its not possible today - certainly not by WWII standards. Oh so we now went from 10 days to 7 days defeat of Poland? Based on what exactly? Did France or British cowards start any operations against Germany after declaration of war - even air operations - beyond leaflet dropping? NOPE. There was no German airforce presence but that was not a problem. Hitler's plan was to deal with Poland in two weeks, it took 5 weeks. His gamble that west will do nothing paid off. France and UK did nothing. Finally, both UK and France actively hindered Poland's own defense by telling Poland not to mobilize. Their luck of own preparation, lackluster preparations for war later on etc. Enabled Soviets to have clear hand and enabled them to invade Poland from the east. Ask yourself - why you are saying that France and UK needed to mobilize? Why were they not mobilized already to full strength??? WHY???!!! If you intend to help your buddy out - you tell him to prepare for a fight (not tell him to relax) while you prepare yourself - normal, right? Unless you do not want to fight.

Yeah Ukraine took epic level losses Zaporozia front, few times more then Russian losses. Reason is 5x superiority of Russians in artillery. I wonder what are UA personnel losses, must be also few times higher then Russian, between 4x and 6x.

Too many people wanted the war. Thus it did happen. Putin will eventually be replaced as he cannot live forever. But it is almost certain he will be replaced by a clone of himself.

So next Russian offensive will either go North of Kharkiv or from the Zaporozia. But I have a feeling its time for northern offensive. Idea is to take north east Ukraine and suggest to Kiev that it will be annexed next.

Compared to other allies Poland did very well - they could have lasted longer but it quickly became clear to everyone in Poland that there is no point in fighting after France and UK did not help. For example, what was the point of holding Warsaw? It would take Germany months to take it, but city would be destroyed, civilians killed all for little reason. So after two weeks of fighting morale collapsed as everyone knew the war was lost. Add to it Soviet push on 17th and you have a very grim picture.
