Problem is they fake stuff that you find on youtube that says EVs are great in cold weather.... People warm up their Tesla in a garage, go for a 2h drive and say "look it still works and charges".

Not really - the main problem at -60F would be frozen coolant and frozen break lines (and power steering if you still have it). To avoid this you need arctic service vehicle or simply never get these parts that cold. Arctic service usually works on air - i.e. fluids are minimal and it uses I believe alcohol for coolant.

@JulianLiebl Wow - my Toyota does not require any heating at over 18C. It starts up right away. Problems start under -30C. I feel it would not start from cold at under -40C.

Good luck to pp in Chicago that are in apartment buildings ;)

Look, Americans are discovering what everyone in Canada knows.... Lithium batteries will not charge at all under -15C or under 5F. Anyone that has power tools knows this. Tesla charger needs to warm up the battery that is cold first - this may be not installed option on all Tesla's - and given how big the battery is, may take a LONG time. When temps drop to -30C / -22F Tesla or any electric is rare on the road - and usually after being warmed up in the garage.
