Well, its not if it never happens. Ukraine is on the ropes and all they can do is little counter attacks here and there. Otherwise its defense everywhere at any cost. Russia has for months now build up defenses in Kherson region so passing through it would be super tough with artillery deficiency and no air support. Also Ukraine would need massive advantage in man power. Finally Russians would just move some troops there to bleed Ukraine dry. On the other hand Z needs to pretend they did not loose yet. Remember Hitler, he did attacks even late in 1944 - even in 1945 (!) Some of these were major - like battle of the Bulge. Same idea here. Except Germans had far more success then UA will have.

Before September we should see end of special operation.

And do let me know, how on earth can pentagon refute a claim when they have said, countless times, they do not know where Ukraine weapons end up? Strange huh, either they know or not know ;)

Russians do not have troops with 30 days of training as all their troops are professionals.

Ukraine a win ;))) LOL :))) Ukraine... offensive ;))) As to the bridge that was hit, its not in any danger of collapse and can be fixed soon. You can see in videos minimal damage. Come on, everyone knows that about this "offensive" so element of surprise is like zero. As to British training - LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on, same training as Iraqis had or Afghan troops had ;))))))))))))))))))

@linzheng5918 Not really === end of the war is good - even it was good for Japan. If war did not end when it did more Japanese would have died and more cities would be smashed.
2
@shawnshazam1912 Not very. It would mean nuclear war. And certainly no more Ukraine. Besides, Russians are liberating Donbass from Ukraine (Kiev regime). So they are doing all liberating right now.
2
@vlasenica18 I do not think they need that many, maybe 500k would be more then enough. They need over 100k for example, to take Kiev. With 250k they could open front on its full length and start advancing towards Kiev. With the other 250k they could advance from the south. Current group of troops would take care of the middle.
2
@vlasenica18 LOL, there could not be as Russia does not have that many soldiers ;) The 30k was conservative, i.e. there were probably less. There were no danger of any encirclement for them. Kiev plan was very ambitious for the Russians. Russia and allies have now deployed like what, 150k soldiers? And they are attacking and moving forward. Ukraine has everything they got deployed. Imagine Russia deployed 3x as much troops plus. What would Ukraine stop them with? Candy? No US deployed far less troops - if I remember correctly the number was around 100k. Also US failed to prevent Serbian air force from flying for like 3 months of Yugoslav war. And we are talking about tiny area surrounded from every side.

No he just added few zeros.

@iwams1 Well, Russians are now crossing the Bahmut defense line. Once that is done they only have Slaviansk and Krematorsk. Also there is increasing talks of what to do after and what Russia will do etc. etc. Essentially they are talking now of buffer zones etc. We can clearly see Ukraine is collapsing and Russians are now just sweeping left overs. Once special operation is over everyone waits for what will be next. That is now new speculation area - what will be NEXT.
1
@vlasenica18 Who cares what Ukrainian (Kiev regime) guys say? Their opinions are irrelevant. We may be in a junction where as Moscow decides to remove Kiev regime. And their opinions will count as much as Baghdad Bob.
1
@FlyingAlfredoSaucer Nah, its moving nicely now. Russians are crossing Bahmut defense line. Its only few km away from Slaviansk line. It is hard to imagine them taking more then a month to do that - its like 1km per day or maybe less. Just look at the time they needed to do Severdoneck to current positions - its about the same distance. And it was what - less then a month, around a month?
1
@FlyingAlfredoSaucer Sure, once operation is complete and Ukraine wants to fight we see what happens. I think Putin will have cause for full scale war. But maybe not. We see. Whatever he does we can all be sure Ukraine will pay dearly for it.
1
@shawnshazam1912 Russia will only use nukes to defend themselves. Relax, Putin currently is the best world leader. Best do not easily do stupid things. Putin sphere of influence is increasing. I do not think there will be any collapse, at least of Russian influence. Currently we are seeing US collapse, on the other hand.

@vlasenica18 Umm, so what Kiev has 3m citizens or did before the war. You look at size of agglomeration and defensive forces that could be deployed. Thus 100k to 150k would be enough to capture the city and surrounding areas. Note That previous lightning attempt by Russia used about 15k initially. Then they sent another 15k from the other side. Combined force of at most 30k made little progress and was stopped, yet they still reached outskirts. We are talking of a force 3x++ larger.
1
@vlasenica18 No one believes in good will. There is none at war.
1
@vlasenica18 If Kiev was captured the plan would be to take all of Ukraine - which would fall rather quickly after fall of Kiev. So no more weapon deliveries from NATO.

@alexanderiliev1431 Except GPS is jammed in a lot of places and/or can be disabled / damaged. Not to mention.... it can be tracked by the enemy (this is how Russia smoked one guy).
1
@alexanderiliev1431 Well, no, satellite tracking is also out as Russians would love it ;) Also its not 100% certain Russia would post pictures - at last not right away. It is of course fishy and there is zero proof & time will tell.
1
@alexanderiliev1431 Umm, you do know Russia also has.... satellites? And HIMARS is huge for a satellite - easy to see. Even oldest Russian satellites would not have any issues. As to the front, why not - you want to hit something 70km behind enemy front line - with 80km range means you need to be just 10km from the front line - or even touch closer. Your vehicle gets damaged and cannot drive off - enemy sends in some special forces to capture it. Its not really tight front line.... they can always be brought in by helicopter. The sale method works similar to above - except system is more damaged / "destroyed" & Russian attack takes the village on which outskirts it was. Finally, there is no technology in HIMARS given to Ukraine that Russia does not know nuts and bolts off - i.e. this was well vetted.
1
@alexanderiliev1431 LOL, sure it can be damaged, come on, we seen multiple ones get smoked on video already. All you need is plenty of drones. Lots of drones. You know they are firing at say central Donetsk so you know the approximate areas to check. Once you spot one, say moving away, all you need is your own artillery to fire on it. Heck, Russians smoked two of them by what I believe is following them to their base. I guess the main trick would be to just damage it a bit not totally disintegrate it. Towed out? How? With what? They would need to call ... a tow truck. All support vehicles would be either vaporized or disabled. How on earth do you pick loyal troops??? All troops should be loyal. And troops chosen were from rocket artillery already. So say among about 15000 troops max or less. I disagree totally about US knowing where HIMARS is at any time. It is not possible to know. Ukraine would need to tell them and then you may have leaks. Encrypted radios can be tracked. By the enemy. I only agree that HIMARS is nothing special, neither are the rockets in it - in fact selling few "spare" rockets would be very easy for Ukrainian side - after all this is ammo. Russia has similar rockets and plenty of them.
1
@alexanderiliev1431 HIMARS is not a magical weapon. Russia has over 200 better systems (tornado). To counter these you simply hunt them down - like Russia did and is doing. So what it moves after it shoots - all mobile artillery does exactly that. They took out two systems using cruise missiles. Radios were traced even before WWII ;))) Come on learn some history. If Germans could do it in 1942 I have a feeling everyone has the tech ;)
1
@alexanderiliev1431 They communicate the same way as everyone else - using encrypted radios. Sure it can be traced, but so what? In this war both sides more or less know each other moves as Ukraine gets NATO intelligence so they know what Russia does and Russia has its own good intelligence as well. US and Ukraine communicate most likely through encrypted internet links. There may be some sat phones or similar devices sprinkled about, but I would assume most would be over the internet. Radio tracking is not useless as you can destroy the source of the communication. HIMARS would be making Russian attack difficult if US gave all of their systems to Ukraine. There has not been any decrease in Russian artillery use - in fact there has been a step up in the south due to local Ukrainian counter attacks. This is according to pro Ukraine maps.
