  3. China will eventually take Taiwan. Question is when. Will it be 100 years or 5 years. China is not ready yet. They need to have more supremacy VS. US. This is not a war vs. Taiwan but US. US wants war now. China waits.

  5.  @davout5775  Why were old Soviet systems not exactly great? Being in the western part of Soviet sphere Ukraine got in 1992 the latest stuff. Then this stuff got upgraded to different degree. I.e. it was not some obsolete junk and there was a LOT of it. Russian missiles are very accurate as making guidance system that is accurate is not a mystery for well over 20 years.

  6.  @davout5775  There is no issue with S-300 use as per Ukraine - they were responsible as per Ukraine for a LOT of kills. Ukraine says they were upgraded. They do list to what level. S-300 missile system is NOT used to defend against low flying subsonic anti ship missiles - you use close in weapon systems. S-300 system is area defense system similar to Patriot system - and is of same role. The Kh-35 missiles most likely responsible for sinking Moskva are rather modern weapon & fly at just few meters above the sea. They would be engaged by close in weapon systems not S-300. Modern S-300 minimum engagement altitude is said to be 25m. This is much higher than the 15m en route and 4m at target of Kh-35 missile. Besides it is questionable there would even be time to use S-300. I do not know for sure what did happen to Moskva - but if it was the missiles most likely due to sea state at the time the cruise missiles were detected too late or maybe not at all.

  7.  @davout5775  It depends on which S-300 and which Patriot system. Some old S-300 may be ... well old and equivalent to original Patriot. Latest S-300 evolved to S-400 which is significantly better system than latest Patriot system. S-300 is not exactly one S-300 - it is same as there is not one Patriot. There are dozens of versions of S-300. The original S-300 is from the early 80s but with original radars it already had PESA radar - i.e. even original S-300 with original radar was not analog. Of course you could connect some older radar system to it. In the early 90s S-300 systems gained ability to down short and medium range ballistic missiles. S-300 and later on S-400 are truly awesome air defense systems. Ukraine had a whopping 250 S-300 systems. To replace these they requested ... 50 Patriot batteries. Just to give you an idea of how strong Ukraine air defenses were. Germany has 12 Patriot batteries - so ballistic defense of Ukraine was roughly 4x stronger than that of Germany (!)
