Main difference is Germans had an objective - albeit far fetched - Ukraine does not seem to have one. What political win exactly? PR does not win wars. Support for war in Russia is going up, way up! Support for Putin is going up as well - during times of stress people go around the leader - see Zielinski for example of this. Imposing costs???? That is Russia on Ukraine as her best units are grinded down in Kursk. Ukraine should surrender - war is clearly lost as Russia cannot be stopped in Donbass.

  18. Nah, Russia has like 5x as many POWs - Azov will not easily be exchanged for conscripts. Maybe at 5:1 ratio - or none at all. Stalin did not exchange his own son. West does not understand Russia AT ALL.
