This is identical story for EVERY cable company, even cable companies in Canada are this bad.

Guy that delivers pizza walks into hospital... ask for $50 for pizza.... they tell him he actually owes them $650... for facility fee ;)

This is way more $$$ - they just made up that number. I had a wire replaced by Rogers cable that was faulty and it was 80ft and for free. It takes almost no time to run wire under a street. Sure it took like 18m of nagging but they got it done. Finally, just pay one of your neighbors for internet - cover their whole bill and get outside repeater. Big deal!

$700 and 7h.... coincidence? Charged for using wait room!

@francissobotka8725 So what, they are already behind payments. They can also fry the device or simply disconnect it - so it says "I am here" but is not working.

@everythingpony Just drive with it - how would they know? Or to be evil, remove it and connect it to lights on a tractor trailer - let them travel far and wide!

Just get internet from your parents and share! Why pay extra?

Easy solution, car value is assessed at repossession time = R, car value assessed now = N, parking fees reasonable for 2 years = p, legal fees =L, Loan amount = $, So $ - R + N - P - L. I assume lender owes borrowers $$$ and should be sue or lender property should be repossessed.

Solution was simple, say you are sorry and negotiate with a family to put a brand new roof on. I am sure that family would not mind a new roof for say the cost of new shingles and other materials alone. Leaving the place as is was clear way to have the whole house destroyed and damages climbing 10x or even more for the cost of the roof. With time the cost > house worth. There was not even much need for insurance to be involved.

Normal pp would easily solve it - say land swap or easement or similar. If the property owner was "normal". Of course for $$$. Or he could buy the house for "discount".

@obsey Nah way, way, way too expensive. Way.

It is not off - there is accuracy in both survey equipment as well as accuracy within original survey made. Finally the fence has inaccuracy as well - i.e. it can for example, depending on fence type, bend with wind. I think HOA just went after this woman for some unknown reason - what they did was ... more then idiotic. Certainly HOA officials should loose their jobs for wasting time and money. OTOH 8in is a LOT. I wonder if builder has insurance to cover the thing. No professional builder would make an 8in mistake if they were knowing what they are doing. Finally if you are dealing with idiots just er on caution side and build within your property by say 2in.
