WOT Arjun best tank in the world - all look at its rifle gun in fear. MK 2 can even fire AT ammo!

Umm, I think the world laughed at challenger 2 for at least 20 years now - it has been obsolete for roughly that long.

@M41D_Walker_Bulldog What is incorrect? The fact that it got lucky vs. junk in Iraq is true. But so its the fact it has power to weight ratio of a late WWII tank. I am deep into tanks. This thing is by far one of the worst modern NATO tanks. Other then tea pot in it, let me know what "modern" thing that tank has that no other NATO tank has done better. Heck, even many non-NATO tanks are better. Way better in every aspect. It is well know - same as Arjun is rather famous. Oh wait, they do share some tech ;)

@devonlord99 T-72BM3 lower set is roughly Leopard 2 A5 and higher set is Leopard 2 A6. Maybe not the latest but quite good. Latest T-90 is roughly on par with Leopard 2 A7. Russians produced T-14 mostly b/c T-72 / T-80 platform is obsolete - there is no room to move up from there. Also Russia does not have even close to tens of thousands of T-72BM3 - They do not even have 1000 T-90 of all types (old and new) Their total inventory of about 20k is 85% old obsolete tanks as war reserve. The T-72BM3 and up is less then around 3000. More then enough to easily win any confrontation in Europe.

@M41D_Walker_Bulldog Maybe b/c most pp don't even know Challenger is a tank.

Most of it is German in origin. If it was British it would be a failure like #2.

Russians though of it in Armata but decided to just leave it for the future. Main problem with going bigger is less ammo & brand new ammo / system. Also 130 is not much bigger to justify things - I think 140mm is right thing and we see it in a decade.

Woo hoo UK is getting a real tank - maybe almost as good as old Leopard 2 A7 (they do share a lot of components). Probably not. But hey, after everyone changed to smoothbore guns (except India with their meme tank) like few decades ago it is nice to see UK joining the club. Took a while. At least UK made tanks will now not be just targets but can actually bite back.

I was under impression Germans will make most of it from German components with UK adding a tea pot and a flag as major contribution.

They made it even 80mm ;)

@kalbs89 Or these that found out in Iraq that 76mm is not enough even against improvised AT weapons.
