Except Russians. Who exactly are Ukrainians fighting? Fins? French? Germans? No, Russians ;) Ooops ;) And this is why we see the results. Also superior command and control of Russian army - clearly shown in Kherson in the last few days.

There is no longer 35k vs. 25k - (or 30 vs 20) - Ukraine is loosing well over 1000 troops a day in the region and 100s of vehicles. There are dozens of videos of destroyed UA hardware. Whole brigades are reduced to company size.

@shaneb315 Oh, don't hold your breath on Nikolaliv and Odessa. I think the first one is prime target this year and the 2nd next year. Maybe both this year. Nazi are Ukrainians - Russians are red. At least get that straight.

Well, Ukrainians did attack emptiness and said hello to Russian artillery and airforce. Turns out attacking empty field without any cover was not a good idea.

But Kherson is already taken - what needs to be taken by the Russians in Nikolaiv. If Ukraine continues its offensive operation I think Nikolaiv is doomed.

Where are you - in dream land? Ukraine cannot even take few villages back without super heavy losses. If they keep up their kherson offensive Russians will take Nikolaiv and maybe Odessa.

@lp9280 Russian artillery edge is now bigger as Ukraine run out of ammo. Where is my proof? Lots and lots of videos of blow up and killed Ukrainians in Kherson. Lots. Lots of large formations liquidated. On video. Finally map and videos from Russian held front line. Ukraine limiting losses? Since when?

@shaneb315 What do you mean - there is a huge 30m large symbol right outside of Lviv - it is hard to NOT notice. "right wing" parties - including the backer of the current president. "western oriented" with SS symbols, with SS spirit - racial segregation laws on paper. Nazi heroes. EU simply "forgets" about its ideals when its political, same way that US forgets about democracy when it visits Saudi Arabia. You support Nazi - then sure, Slava Ukraine. My grandfather fought against German Nazi and Ukrainian Nazi. I will never let Nazi rise up again.

@shaneb315 Bandera has 100s of monuments in Ukraine, is official (by act of parliament) hero of Ukraine. This is equivalent to having Hitler official hero of Germany. So not only neo Nazi consider him a her as he is hero for all of Ukraine by act of her government. Support for Bandera in the west Ukraine was over 2/3 - hence all the monuments. Long live democratic Ukraine - if it wants to be with Russia so be it - people have choice and if they want to be part of Russia so be it. You do not believe in democracy as you claim - since choice means a NO choice is a valid response. Donbass and Crimea do not want to be with Kiev Nazi Regime. And I support their free choice.

If Ukraine is not a Nazi nation why it has Bandera monuments, 10% of its military is like German SS, it has clearly racial laws enacted. @shaneb315 If Ukrainians do not want Russian control why they are fighting Kiev regime???? They want to live independently like any other pp - not just "western" people. ALL PEOPLE want to be free. Even Russians. Why is that such a hard concept to understand? If Russia does not have their best interest who does - certainly not Kiev regime. Again, this is same as when US fought their war of independence from UK. You would certainly be on UK side. I would be on US side. The will of the people has to be respected. Not the will of some high king in his high castle. Putin may not be a nice guy in all of this, but that does not mean Zielinski is, especially given that he does not have the best interest of his people in mind - what does he care, he is a millionaire or even billionaire with multiple houses and easy access to US.

I am under impression that at least one Ukrainian brigade is trapped in Kherson and idiots in UA command are sending even more in. Losses are already epic. If they don't stop now the Russians will take Nikolaiv this year.

Not really, also it took Soviets about a year to push Germans out. They are moving a lot slower now but it is inevitable.

Oh they are still counter attacking. The plan is to reduce Ukrainians by about 10000 or so and devoid them of almost all armor. Then attack should go well!

No. No issues with starving for anyone. Except in Nikoliav and Odessa - they have long food lines there (on video).

For no way to resupply they sure are by some magic firing at least 10 or more like 20 times more shells then UA side. They do not need food. They are Russians. Ukrainians have food and plenty of it. They simply take food from Ukrainian troops. Fresh MREs from the west!

It looks like that after Ukraine bleeds out it will be forced to use their national guard. At this time current Russian line plus reinforcements will make a move on Nikolaiv.

How do you know if Russia will ever even loose Kherson or in what manner. I am quite certain we see Ukraine loose Nikolaiv first.

After Russia reduced 1000s of Ukrainians and thanks to idiots in charge on UA side 1000s more for the next few days the situation of Ukraine in Kherson looks hopeless thus it makes sense to see Nikolaiv can be taken very soon. Chances of Ukraine taking Kherson are essentially zero. This has been shown decidedly over last few days on the battlefield.

Finally same can be said of Nikolaiv operation. The goal for Russians will be to starve Ukrainian garrison out and since there are only two bridges this certainly can be done. So good job UK, giving hints to the Russians on how it should be done! Also this former UK officer is low on history. In Stalingrad, the Soviets supplied the city through lake Ladoga. THROUGH the lake. I think the lesson from WWII is that if you can resupply Reds over a lake, a river is nothing. This can be seen right now in Kherson - where Russian logistics were broken, Ukraine attack, Ukraine got smashed. Clearly history, military history, is not strong point of UK officer education.
