No. The warning in the aircraft is for either airborne band radar or ground based radar. There is no distinction between "this radar is connected to medium range or long range" - as this is unknown to the aircraft. And said radar can be used with either - a lock is a lock. Most likely scenario is that no Russian aircraft were harmed as there is zero evidence of anything and prominent Russian bloggers denied any aircraft were harmed.

@MTStingray On one side, people claim bloggers from Russia admitted it - so it must be true, but when they deny it, it must be a lie ;) Ukraine has zero proof but whatever they say is gospel. I think people on this channel are insane.

Yes, very old aircraft.
2
@blazunlimited No they did not. Also their prominent account for such news regarding Su-34 - fighter-bomber on Telegram denied any losses. This account is the one that listed all other losses. So Russian side - both official - and unofficial denied any losses. This has forced guys on youtube to backtrack - say military summary channel reported "loss of 3x Su-34" but today he said that it is unconfirmed and he does not know.
2
Well, that would put Russia in front, 5 confirmed kills vs. 8 confirmed kills - so already half of F-16s to be delivered are down.
1
@tuehojbjerg969 I mean no confirmed kills for either side. I bet neither side lost a single aircraft.

Russia also claimed 6 downed UA aircraft over the last week or so. Both sides provided same evidence - like none. Given total luck of evidence and similar use of glide bombs today as yesterday I think that Russia did not loose what UA claims. Imagine if Ukraine could do what they claim - to take down Russian jets with patriot - they could have moved it all over the front - move it to Donbass and down aircraft there, etc. Why is this not happening? Russia lost few aircraft some time ago in a single day - but that came with actual video as proof - aircraft were filmed. Now we have none.
1
@rmdomainer9042 Russian telegram channels mean nothing. Same as other channels online - same channels say they downed 100 Ukrainian aircraft - do you believe that as well?
1
Both claims are a joke. No proof for either.
1
@bananian The looser mostly lies and twists. Russia is clearly winning the war. There is no need to do any major lying. Using on pro UA channels you find a lot of BS. I mean what else can you show? I have said Ukraine will loose this war right after they ended negotiations in 2022. I was sure of a loss when Russia mobilized 300k fresh troops. Now its only question of time - there will be strong western push to end this by Spring 2024.
1
Its quite a modern aircraft - less than a decade old. Way ahead of the electronics in old F-16s.
1
@superwout But a 1980s F-16 is not contemporary western jet. Su-34s - depending on which one it is, is few years old - maybe a decade, not 40! Please, I hope you are not suggesting Russia is 40 years behind the west in avionics. Same BS was repeated during both Korean and Vietnam wars - but it was quickly corrected. Neither MiG-15 nor MiG-21 proven to be junk.
1
@superwout Ukraine is getting the old stuff - that is a fact. So not sure exactly which ball game you are talking about. Not only they are getting old F-16s, they are not getting 100s of them but less than two dozen.
1
@enpakeksi765 Maybe, maybe not. Didn't they have an election where "no more war" party won? Once they form government they are very likely to cancel any help to UA.
1
3:20 that is NOT true at all - a missile system such as patriot has to be relatively close to engage a target such as a fighter aircraft - it cannot be close to its max range - that range is for non maneuvering aircraft such as a transport aircraft on fixed route. A fighter bomber would detect patriot attack and immediately make a defensive turn, going back and down - down low to drag the missile into thicker air. In order to still down this aircraft you would fire multiple interceptors as well as be relatively close - so your own missiles have maximum energy. At 100km you are too far - system max range is only 160km. For 100km shot you need super long range like S-400 system which downed Su-27 over Kiev from well over 100km away. But S-400 max range is whopping 400km.
1
Well, Russian claim is as believable as UA claim without any proof. So this week Russia lost 5 aircraft and Ukraine 4.
1
@twirlyturd4364 Of course its a lot of cope - especially on UA side as they are loosing the war now. So we will see more news of UA victories during the winter as Russians continue their advance. What else can UA do? They cannot report "today our forces fought hard but had to retreat in 8 places". Instead they say "Our forces stopped 20 enemy attacks". They cannot say "Today we lost Marinka and suburbs" instead "Today we downed 3 enemy aircraft".
1
They had such capability around year 2000 - now long gone.
1
@unduloid Now imagine Russia has roughly 5x as many drones!
1
@unduloid How can Russia be all of this yet they are winning the war without needing to even do a conscription? Come on, you have a brain, use it. Use plain simple logic. Observe the facts on the ground, and based on these facts draw conclusions. Don't use news, propaganda etc. just plain facts. And solid conclusions. What do you come up with now?
1
@enpakeksi765 We are talking here about service in Ukraine, not annual draft for training. Most of the world had or has draft since roughly French revolution. Not sure what is your point here.
1
@mascot4950 Not really, 160km is too short. Remember these cannot be right at the front or they could be taken out - unless Ukraine risked their precious battery.
1
@mascot4950 yes I am pointing out error on his side. The whole thing is hypothetical as there is zero proof of anyone loosing any aircraft.
1
No.
1
@stream2watch Yes, but it has to fly in the area and Russia has few of them available.
1
@stream2watch Yeah but none were shown to be flying over the Black Sea. Most of what US flies there are drones - these are to spy on electromagnetic emissions. They are not AWACS drones. We also don't know of any US AWACS flying in Romania. Even if they tried the distance is over 400km. Which is beyond AWACS effective range - too far. Even from Black Sea, without flying right next to Ukraine, the range would be around 400km. I think we can safely say it was not US AWACS.
