@macmcleod1188 Problem is Russia is ALSO defending their country.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Ukraine is winning war of attrition? Really? They are loosing it BAD. Russia picked this war of attrition as it guarantees them victory in the long run. This guy is an idiot.

By same logic one would assume US, a sort of great power should not more or less loose every major war (with few exceptions) since WWII - but they did. So ... is US a great power???
1
@tjampman Problem is that if we use that metric US and many others also won - so both UK and Soviets also won in Afghanistan. Even by that metric Soviets won much more in Afghanistan as after they left Afghan government did not fall for 2 years vs. when US left it fell in 3 weeks.

Russia has skin in the game as well - they are also fighting for and defending land of allies and Russian ethnic people. They have as much reason or even more then Kiev regime. These pp have no choice. They have to defeat Kiev at any cost. This is why Ukraine will not win - same reason why US / Russia / UK failed in Afghanistan. Freedom is simply hard to defeat.

@pavelhranicky8291 General mobilization is expensive. Ukraine already recruited in prisons few months ago. Why do things you do not have to do???
1
@pavelhranicky8291 But ethnic Russians in these regions are fully mobilized - i.e. they are all in the army already. Donbass mobilized as soon as Ukraine mobilized, at the same time. What you need to see as distinction is which part of Ukraine, is it in Donbass or is it outside of Donbass. For example, there is not that much will to fight in Kherson other then for say for water supply for Crimea or b/c Ukraine would bombard areas of Russia proper such as Crimea or Donbass. Telling pp we need 100km buffer is less convincing then we need to get your home back. Support for Crimea is like 95% in Russia - even Navalny sees it as part of Russia. At the same time Kherson probably does not have more then 50%. DPR / LPR only want to fight in Donbass. Or for Russia proper as 2nd choice, not so much for say Dnipro. Good example of what is going on.

@pavelhranicky8291 WHAT? There is not a hint of what are you saying. There is a clear resolve to fight. Crimean, Donbass, Ukraine, Russia etc. Belongs to people that live there. Period. If these pp want to join Russia - it is Russia. If they want to join Ukraine, its Ukraine. Period. We no longer live in imperial times - we live in more civilized world where pp should be given a choice. Freedom win these days, and it can be seen after 20 year stay of US in Afghanistan. Same thing in Crimea and Donbass. They do not want to be part of Kiev regime. Crimea belonged to Ukraine, but then it seceded from Ukraine and as independent state joined Russia. I am sure you can now throw some legality fit, to which I remind you it was illegal for US to secede from UK as well ;) Also I remind you a lot of land that makes your country is based on people that LIVE there. Otherwise maybe you should give some land back to Germany, huh?!

@pavelhranicky8291 LOL! Russia was all for real referendum as well - even in Donbass ;) With UN and US and EU as watchdogs. Totally legit. Ukraine refused. What on earth possessed you to think that they would allow people choice?!?! Why Siberia would separate from Russia proper ;) Yes, I believe in choice - too bad only few places on earth give such choice. Most countries do not - heck even somewhat civilized places such as Spain do not allow referendums... maybe b/c they know Catalonia would leave. Finally what about Georgia - why they do not have referendum? Or maybe even Azerbaijan. Or so many other places. I assume you firmly believe Taiwan does not have a choice either and needs to listen to Beijing? I also assume you do not support Kosovo?
1
@pavelhranicky8291 You can do referendum with UN / US / UK and any of these democracies. Results would be the same. A lot of referendums by so called "democratic powers" were with soldiers on the streets. Heck, may I remind you of elections in Afghanistan? Were there US soldiers there? Were the elections "fair"? Exactly. Was above resolved by "political menas"? No - oh why not? I guess "democratic powers" do not like to play? What about all these coups where US overturned democratic government? Say like Iran? Why not resolve through "political means"? What about Kosovo - why not return it to Serbia then - there was not even fake referendum there! Sometimes you need to fight for what is yours. This is what Russia do. I support their fight for their home. Ukraine did not allow referendum for Crimea or Donbass - so revolution it is. If you were so law abiding regarding rules and sitting at a table to do political means you would not have your country right now!

@macmcleod1188 You do know they get paid at least monthly :) Why would young well off Russians not have skin in the game? It is their country. Same thing can be said of many well of Ukrainians - they also do not have skin in the game by same argument! This is why so many young Ukrainians left and are seen all over Europe or north America. Why not fight for their country - or shall we say Donbass? How many millions have left Ukraine, never to return in pas few years? Even before the war???? Country of 54m before 1991 reduced to just 37m before this current conflict. That is a loss of what exactly, 17m. Even if you exclude Crimea and Donbass regions from 2021 it is like 10m loss (!)

@pavelhranicky8291 WHAT DO YOU MEAN - it happened like 10 years ago! Last time a democratic power organized a referendum and annexed the territory. 10 years ago or so. Hello, Kosovo?! "Serbia lost any claim on Kosovo when it used ethnical cleansing as a final solution there." Oh, so I guess you agree then that Ukraine lost any claim to both Crimea and Donbass. Thank you for agreeing on that point. Oh, regarding your country - I have a feeling it has tiny bit LONGER history then last 25 years, no, think deeper. Finally, regarding annexation and referendums - that was the correct solution to crisis after WWI. Land was given based on who lived there and this is how new nations were created. Sure, people from Kherson can go back to Ukraine - this was original proposal for peace which Ukraine refused. Ukraine did not want to end this war based on ethnic divide. It would be foolish for Russia to give back land to Ukraine which it captured without any peace deal. For a pariah Russia is doing very well - guess who defeated soundly pro Ukraine resolution at UN few days ago! Only west supported it, the rest of the planet shown a middle finger. People are not as stupid as you think, they can clearly see that Ukraine does not want peace and wants to continue abusing Russians which rose up. I also support people fighting for their freedom. Democracy is based on freedom. You are good to remember that. How free are you exactly?

@mirekslechta7161 about 50k troops out of which over 40k are Russians (there are Chinese at over 2000, Indians probably same number and some former republics like Tajikistan). So I realize that the 40k can later be deployed in Ukraine.

@pavelhranicky8291 According to your country Kosovo does not belong to Serbia it belongs to Kosovo which is about as close to Albania as Donbass is to Russia. Maybe you need to actually read about the issue there. Kosovo - Albania - Serbia issue is EXACTLY the same as Donbass - Russia - Ukraine issue. Exactly. Every little detail. Ethnical cleansing definition is different for everyone - its a very broad term. Was there attack on Russian culture, language and customs? Yes of course. Such attacks are all over Baltic states as well (former Nazi). Are they forcing Russians out of their homes? In some cases yes. Are they using gas to finish them off - so far no. Which resolution - from August 25th. Sure you live in a country that you can do all of that - lets see how far you go when you actually do stuff that are NOT popular and once you become a threat. They will cancel you. And if you are big enough threat they will sanction you. So much for "freedom" nowdays. You do not have a lot of knowledge of stuff going on around you. Its all propaganda. These news you watch - propaganda. Most of what you read online propaganda. Everything. To figure out a slimmer of truth you need to use logic and filter through the lies.

Russia won the war as defeat as defined by Ukraine and idiot Z is not possible. On the other hand Russian goals are so modest & almost all achieved that it is hard to imagine them loosing. It is as simple as that. Easy logic. As to 3:38 - it is clear that Ukraine cannot push Russia out as they never actually did even attempt hard at doing so - Russians and allies are still moving forward as they did for past 6 months. Russia has a lot to escalate with - its idiotic to think the do not! We can see one day total war which would kill millions of people - certainly we do not want to escalate to that. Finally thinking that Russia is weak got certain Adolf to get his teeth knocked in.
