Exactly - this is why Ukraine is loosing the war badly now - they are not "running completely out" of things they are running low on a lot of things all over the place & are unable to replace losses. Russia is winning as they are able to easily replace all of their losses. It is a classical war of atrition where you are out rating your enemy.

@gingerlicious3500 Exactly - they are based on air power - they cannot supply artillery for a Soviet style war. They simply do not have the capacity to do so - thus you just proven my point that NATO is running out. You said it yourself.

@gingerlicious3500 LOL, NATO has no plans of supplying large number of air assets. US did not even supply the 31 tanks it promised - it delayed till 2024 ;)) "Not to mention that NATO has a much larger industrial capability than Russia and is beginning to expand its plant for artillery." not at all - Russia has shown it has a much larger capacity and NATO did zippo so far to expand its production. There are no plans in any major NATO country to radically increase artillery production. NATO just keeps Ukraine on a drip feeder waiting for inevitable collapse. Once Ukraine starts clearly collapsing NATO will strongly suggest negotiations and whatever they lead to it will be called "Ukrainian victory". There - come back to this comment predicting the future when it happens.

Russia can mobilize more but why? They are not pushed by Ukraine in any sense. They have more equipment as well - to mobilize and equip 300k more troops. BUT the limiting factor here is artillery - Russia cannot attack decisively in more then few places as they are limited to maybe at most 30k shells per day. If Russia mobilized and used another 300k these troops would suffer higher casualty rates - maybe even as high as Ukrainian casualty rates. Putin does not want that - there is no hurry - Ukraine is getting weaker every day - no need to speed up the war at a cost of 1000s of dead - which would look bad at home. Let artillery do its work. Of course things can change and Putin may be forced to mobilize more. Either way Ukraine can only count on a miracle to turn things around.

@thomasjgallagher924 Ukraine did not take any land back in the last 6 months and only lost it. Ukraine took massive losses in equipment and man power. Ukraine has zero path to victory. Not exactly sure what they are waiting for as miracles are rare and far between. By end of summer huh? Like the war was supposed to be won before the winter? Then by spring? LOL. What can Ukraine do by end of summer exactly? They are weaker now than they have been during Kharkov and Kherson offensives. Russia is much, much stronger. If by end of Summer you mean that Ukraine will be forced to the table - I agree - but why wait? Ukraine defeat is inevitable given that it cannot sustain losses while Russia can. Ukraine cannot replace lost troops. Russia can. Ukraine cannot replace lost equipment - Russia can.

@solimaro Isn't it? Whole west is trying to defeat Russia with Ukrainian hands yet it fails - who would have ever thought! Either Russia is strong, or NATO is weak.

@gingerlicious3500 And did they give Ukraine tanks???? Nope. NATO knows that if it pushes very hard China will get involved into a war of attrition and a proxy. They know they cannot win that. Who is saying all this BS about bad Russian economy when they are doing like 100x better than NATO predicted??? Russia may not be a great country - may be a shithole country - but at least its a country - Ukraine right now is not. Russian economy recovered already - as per world bank. Russian military does not need to recover from anything - they have not collapsed at all. Losses in say air power are ... a whopping 1 year production ;)))) I.e. since the war lasts now over a year Russians recovered all losses ;) Losses from tank combat may take longer - few years - but it also means Russia will have better tanks. Once Russia wins the war do you really think the victor will suffer? How can anyone sane think Ukraine, in a war that is crucial to Russia's survival can win is beyond me. Its like a grown man fighting a 10 year old an pp betting on the 10 year old - in a fight to the death. Less than 300 tanks committed for year 2 of the war. Almost no new artillery systems. Chronic luck of artillery shells, with no new major numbers coming in. Epic level losses of military personnel. Tiny air force. Soon running out (as per west) of air defense missiles. And yet there are pp that think... Ukraine can win. Russia did not even mobilize too hard. Please, enlighten me as to why Ukraine would win? Other than a miracle please. Win is defined regaining all land prior to 2014.

@agffans5725 Exactly - almost nothing is sent anymore. May I remaind you that west sent something in line of over 600 artillery systems during first year of the war, and there are no pledges for more than 100 for 2nd year. In order to fire 5000 rounds of ammo per day you need around 1.7 million rounds per year. No do your math and see that artillery shells are NOT coming. 8000 rounds for 19 howitzers is not much at all ;))) Usually these fire around 50 rounds per day. So supply sent is for... OMG - a whopping 8 days. Maybe 10 days if they stretch it out ;)))) Yes, Ukraine will get all ex. Polish and ex. Slovakian fighters - I do expect that the west eventually will donate few dozen F-16s. The donations do not fully cover Ukraine losses which are much more. Ukraine lost over 70 aircraft (quite confirmed - not some Russian source) with almost half of these MiG-29s. If you want to know exact types, just use wikipedia. This is pro western source - so real number can be much higher. Essentially Ukraine is toast. They are not getting a lot of tanks, artillery or even IFV. They are not getting air defense systems. Sending more "wonder weapons" will be of similar help as the one in Germany in 1945 ;) Sending weapons only prolongs the war. Russia is clearly winning and sending more to keep war going is certainly not making the end of the war in sight. 1000s more will have to die. Why not simply start negotiations? Ukraine does not enter NATO and transfers all land with majority RU population to Russia - Russia transfers all land with majority UA back to Ukraine. Simple. Why does Ukraine fight to be in NATO???

Most Russian troops are not committed to fighting. Putin will only mobilize more if he is pushed to do so. Russia seems to wait for Ukraine to go on offensive, commit and then they will strike. Russia is into war of atrition. This means by any means destroy enemies more than loosing their own. At any other cost. 2:14 - Putin DID NOT use these troops for winter offensive - see my first line - there was hardly any offensive & most of these troops sit idle (well they may get more training).
