Well, public opinion in Russia has 2 effects: 1 support for war increased 2 more people are volunteering to serve Not sure how that helps Ukraine.

No, he kept them out of a fight as the losses would be high and public opinion would hate such a move. Now, with public opinion turning he can use conscripts more freely as support for more sacrifice is there.
2
Where are they forcing him???
1
Well, most Ukrainian young men either run away or are dead. Putin can use some conscripts but the usage is low and will not make any dent in demographic.

They are smart - they send troops to Donbass - Kursk is just forests and villages. Once Donbass is taken its game over.

@philjameson292 Sure - Putin does not need soldiers to occupy Ukraine - he will simply incorporate large parts of it into Russia or all of it as needed and use local police to deal with any limited insurgency. As you noted any OUN resistance vs. Stalin did not reach much beyond 1950 and calling it resistance is a stretch - it was more they managed to hide in holes for 5 years before security forces found them. So yeah I don't think it will be a problem for Russia - not a problem at all.

@philjameson292 How does that related to Ukraine? Last time I checked they were part of Soviet Union with over 50m population and there was no resistance. Now they have 20m in Zielinski Ukraine. Neither in Iraq nor Afghanistan nor Vietnam US had 30% or more of Americans living there. Once again, Soviets had Ukraine - all of it - without any insurgency. Now its just a shadow of what its been. There is more partisan activity in Zielinski Ukraine fighting US sponsored regime than in Putin Ukraine fighting Russia. So I fail to see comparisons to Vietnam at work her - especially given that its Kiev that has more issues than Moscow.

@philjameson292 You do not understand this war. This war is more of a civil war not a war of different people. " If the population doesn't want you there then you ain't going to stay." - they key is the "if" if the population does not mind you staying there - as is the case here, you can stay. Putin, if needed, can seal the border so no weapons will flow. The situation can be best modeled by civil war in say Spain - how many troops do Spain need to use to keep insurgents at bay? They had a war in 1930s you know. Or if you don't like it, Chechnya - I don't see huge insurgency there - do you - and by far they are significantly more fight in the locals there than say Afghanistan. And yeah, you need to work on your English skills.

But Ukraine cannot bring the war to such point -- not even within 1000 miles of it. Putin knows he won the war. It is clear. All he has to do is preserve. Same as Stalin knew in 1943 he won. We are in more like 1944 in WWII timeline - it is obvious Ukraine lost the war.

LOL!
1
What shambling logistics? The ones that dwarfs Ukraine logistics?
1
Russia does not care about losing face.
1
What dilemma? Why the idiots in the west think there is one? Putin has clear path. Advance in Donbass. It is now enabled by foolish Ukrainian move.
1
Eh it will be probably 2/3s professional troops and 1/3 conscripts. Even if by some miracle losses were even - which they clearly are not with Ukraine losses much higher, Russia can afford it. Ukraine cannot loose these troops as they don't have anything to replace them with.

@Maxcom-r8i I am from Earth - obviously video author and you are from some different planet.
1
Why would they need bigger army? For what? To finish war sooner? It costs a lot of money to rise a big army - and than what? Disband it? Invade EU? What do you do with such huge army?
1
Well, Russia is responding by crossing western red lines - clearly continuing this will lead to even more escalation.
1
What "stalemate" -- Russia has been steadily advancing in Donbass for months. Now this advance is gaining speed.
1
@Jagonath Ah yes, you have 10x advantage in fire power your enemies are running out of men and yet some people claim you are the one taking heavier losses ;)))))
