Comments by "" (@tomk3732) on "'The Russian Federation could collapse' because of Ukraine's counter-offensive | Ben Hodges" video.
So what - if he steps back he is replaced by more aggressive leader. That is bad for everyone.

Not really. Russia had only screening force there. They could never hold that land against any harder attack. Like they had less then 10k troops in all of that region. Notice how Ukraine failed in Kherson which is defended or their attacks in Donbass. I just seen video of Ukrainian panzer attack on Pieski that was crushed by the Russians. Ukraine does well only in undefended areas - same as Russians did in the beginning - they also went to Kiev - so what.

What if Democracy in Russia chooses to fight for Russians? Will you still support this? Russian support for Crimea as part of Russia is 95%. Even Navalny said it was the right thing to do.
2
LOL, Russia - a whole country - collapse b/c of one offensive? LOL! Did Ukraine collapse when Russians were near Kiev and crossed 100s of km? No. So why would Russia collapse b/c Ukraine went 50km?
2
How? They are not giving freedom to anyone. As soon as Ukraine takes over any parts of Donbass they will ship people to concentration camps.

@sjonnieplayfull5859 Why would Russians flee from Crimea?

@SICKFREDO Yes, we see how long west pays 10B a month to support a failed state.... then again they spent trillions in Afghanistan so I would not hold my breath on this one. Russian strategy is to make it a draw. So they will keep feeding just enough troops to make it a draw. US strategy is the same. Thus we can expect years of war.
1
@SICKFREDO If things get bad they equalize support with use of nukes. And just like that billions of weapons sent to Ukraine will be of little use. For each billion west sends - Russia will send 1 nuke. See how well it goes for Ukraine.
1
LOL, Chechnya breaking away? Why? They are loving it now. This guy is out of touch with reality. Ukraine cannot get Crimea back as Russian federation nuclear doctrine states defense of the state is allowed with nuclear weapons. So even if Ukraine managed to break into Crimea they would have tasted atom. Finally, Russia can always mobilize. We are years away from resolving this conflict - it also could be a series of conflicts over the next few decades. Same as Catharine the Great taken out Ottomans - 5 wars.

No one got encircled. Russian troops - well mostly Donbass troops and some national guard troops retreated very quickly and their retreat was covered by paratroopers.
1
@oneshothunter9877 Maybe - but his replacement will not treat this as operation but a war.

LOL, remember Soviets defeated Germany. They defeated the French. The only pp they could not defeat quickly were the Poles, but eventually they also defeated Poland. I find it suspicious that someone things they cannot defeat Ukraine. If worse comes to worst they can ask Asia for aid. Russia is winning this war so far. They are holding territory that they want, they have not lost any of it. Once they start loosing territory they want back we can talk about switch in tide. At that point Putin will have to partially mobilize. They have plenty of equipment left. Also there are no T60 tanks. You probably mean T-62M.
1
Nah, I think he will rather mobilize and if that fails use tactical nukes afterwards. This is not Afghanistan where you can simply move back.
1
He will escalate instead.
1
@andersjjensen Problem is that free democratic Russia will not end the war as it sees the war as just. I.e. Russians can revolt - to elect a leader that will lead them to victory over their enemies.
1
@SteelHex How can that be true if all the bridges were dead. What I can see is that Kharkiv had very weak forces and was just being held. Most of Russians moved out of there months ago. They stopped offensive operations long time ago. They even lost some villages in that region and some were left, on the other side of the river - undefended!
