The Russian problem is short 6 (or even less) contracts. This is all nice and good for a short war - but not so good for multi year war. Imagine you are Russian from Sibera and you sign up for 6 months. In these 6 months you make more $$$ then at your regular job in 2 years. You enjoy your $, buy a car etc. Why risk another 6 months? Maybe once you run out of $$$ but not immediately.

Once they clean up the river crossing they may look into northern part. I think they are in bleeding Ukraine mode. I do think they should take out Nikolaiev just to make a political point. But Putin seems to not care too much about optics.

@oconnem1 The claim was 600 then upgraded to 1200. This was not a faint - unless you use Russian definition of failed attack as "faint". Russia did not move any significant reinforcements to Kherson front. With river flooded and no chance of a bridge and even low chance of a boat what do you expect these UA forces to do? They have to destroy their equipment & try to get over the river. If Russia wants to take Mykolaiv they can - its not difficult. Do tell, how many bridges does the city have? I recon 2 road bridges and 1 rail bridge. That is it. How far are the Russians? 15km or so. Thus if they take out these 3 bridges and move these 15km what will Mykolaiv do?

@fv5855 All the sales are down yet production is up and revenue and profits are up. Amazing isn't it? Russian manufacturing posting double digit growth, their currency staying strong and now the economy may either be flat or post a growth (!!!) Again, amazing considering EU is in recession! Even more amazing is that the data for growth is international so not from Pravda. Looks like your doom predictions totally failed! Finally, once can see its a joke when you say military production is down. Clearly it has to be up - way up. I mean even if its just "special" operation it still requires a lot of stuff. Why would it be down? Think about it. And do not tell me the BS about chips - you can read that Russia has been producing its own military grade chips for decades now. And no, they did not use western hardware in aircraft / spacecraft / other during Soviet times either. Do not even get me started on bearings - another BS. I am sure that T-34 / T-54 / T-55 / T-62 / T-72 / T-80 made during Soviet times were also dependent on western bearings (!!!) How people can be this stupid?
