Its a total mystery as to what Russians are doing. Why Russian army left the area and only DPR forces are there?

@anglet64 Nah, for emergency use they have missiles. They certainly are making them right now. The NK think is a joke. Russia did not even burn 1/4 of their Soviet stock yet. They are simply not taking out these bridges as there is no need to do so. There are no forces in Kharkiv.

LOL, Russian sources reported loosing the city before pro UA map was updated & he reported loosing cities that pro UA map still shows as under Russian control.
7
@StrawHat83 Not at all. I bet there are almost no Russian troops there. I would not be shocked if Ukraine punched into empty air - i.e. there are only screening forces there. Notice that few days ago UA forces crossed a river, went into town on the other side and NO ONE WAS THRERE! No one. So I expect more of the same - no one there.
5
Unlikely. Russians knew for at least 10 days of Ukrainian armor concentrating in Kharkiv. Also Russia had like zero forces deployed for at least a month - for at least a month Russia and allies have been moving super slow in Donbass. Question is why Russians moved out?
4
Problem is there were no Russians on the banks of the river. There does not seem that the whole area has any ... Russians.
4
The guy on this channel has been saying for over a week that there is LOTS of armor in the area.
3
@StrawHat83 Nah, they can move out. Notice that neither side had many surrenders and Russians are very careful not to get surrounded. Besides, I doubt there are any Russian forces in Izium. Maybe a battalion or two.
3
No, what I can see is there are NO RUSSINAS at all in that area. None. In Kherson there were actual troops. Here, nothing. It feels Russians have simply... moved out and only screening force of DPR forces is here. Maybe few 1000s troops for the whole area - whole 1/2 of Kharkiv.
2
If bridges are small - they can be bypassed by pontoons quickly. Also I believe Russians simply moved out of that area - i.e. there will not be any counter attack as Russians simply ... left.
2
@mediumch Problem is Russians have quit using Izium as axis of attack at least a month ago, maybe even more. Like 2 months ago. Last attack from Izium was maybe 3 months ago. I think Putin is shrinking the operation. I.e. they do not have forces to hold as much land as they currently are holding.
2
They know general area. Not exact location.

@Hereford1642 It feels like Russia has now less then 50k deployed in Ukraine. It also feels like the 3rd "Core" is missing in action - I do not see them deployed anywhere. I have no clue as to what Russia's game plan is - it feels they are changing objectives yet again after Kiev. Well, time will tell.
1
@Hereford1642 People do not understand the difference between RUSSIA and DPR / LPR / everyone else. There are 20/25k or more troops in about 150km or more of Kherson front. There are at least 50k in Donbas front. There are another 25k in Zaporozia front. And max 25k in Kharkiv front - or much less - as we are seeing now. Total Russian troops is around 50k. Add above and see how many "other troops" there are.
1
I think Russia simply left the area. There are no Russians there other then screening force - next few days will tell us exactly that.
1
Problem is that Russia is not there - at all. This is a total mystery.
1
I bet what is going on is that Russia moved out of the area and Ukraine just punched hard into empty air.
1
@balkinavian What videos - there is almost no combat in Kharkiv area - it looks like Russians moved out and Ukraine is engaging screening forces only. There are whole villages across the river with no one there - not even artillery spotter.
1
@Desrtfox71 Do you know the logistics needed to even MOVE 50k troops for the exercises??!! Clearly you do not have military training. Its not like they were stationed all in the same area. The had to be moved 1000s of km to exercise area. Fuel had to be moved, ammo etc. Huge deal! Not to mention $$$ spent! Clearly if you were out of troops and needed more you would cancel the exercises and start using $$$ and resources to move these troops where they are needed. Instead of dozens of trains moving stuff to exercise zone they could move it to Urkaine. Maybe not full 50k but say 25k. That is a huge force. That is more professional soldiers then whole UA Kharkiv offensive!
1
Well, there is little need for them to be around Kharkiv. Its not like their goal at all. Their goal is to liberate Donbass - so maybe they will leave.
1
@richardlellip.e.m.b.a.7969 LOL! US lost 60k killed in Vietnam. 60k! Russia lost less then 10k in Ukraine. I think 60k >>> 10k ;)
1
@StrawHat83 So far all looks like Izium could be taken in the next few days - max a week. There does not seem to be any Russian troops there and only token DPR troops. We see what happens near Kupiansk - but I think it should be taken in next three days as well. Not sure about a defeat - the enemy of UA moved away. It does not seem like there is a plan to counter attack or do any other operation at all. Whole villages south of Izium are empty. No one is there to defeat.

Maybe b/c there are no deaths? Maybe b/c there are no Russians to die?
