Please do not add Poles to French and Italians. Poles don't need to defend their record.

Same propaganda that was used to prop up the French.

Which totally explains how their armor got kicked by infantry in Greece.

@TimeTraveller010 Against infantry led by Greeks their armour also had no chance. A Greek on his two feet >> Italian in a tank.

Yes, when you come down to single people some Italian men were very brave. However, overall quality was terrible on every level, Italians for the most part did not feel the need to fight, commanders were ... not deserving of command for the most part (I am sure again some were good) and a lot of equipment was lucking (through again, some things were excellent). Thus there are always exceptions to everything.

Same thing was said of the French. Its morale booster. No one needed to say this about say Poles or Russians or even the British troops.

Incompetence run from top to very bottom together with total luck of any kind of fighting spirit. Italy may have poor tanks but forever it shall be remembered that their armored division was out flanked and beaten by Greek infantry.

@thecommentaryking From history. Read about Italian campaign in Albania followed by Greece.

Imagine we would be speaking German now if not for Italy

According to wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/185th_Paratroopers_Division_Folgore Italians did have AT guns (through small) and did cause some considerable (for Italians) casualties to attacking allies. Whole division, except about few hundred men, surrendered to allies when they run out of ammunition (how was that possible). So no, they did not just have hand weapons, and no they did not almost all die. Division participated in other battles but did not find what they did at these encounters.
