  1. I bet that game controller in charge of something "important" is not a $30 Logitech but something more in line with $1000. It passes multiple tests and certifications. It also uses military grade components.

  2. It is 100% not true that military or say health care use "game controllers" or "regular monitors" - they use certified stuff for application. I.e. no one sane would use off the shelf stuff without a very good backup on a submersible due to no certification for sea environment. Sea contains water with a lot of dissolved salts. Salts are not friends of any electronics - thus using off the shelf stuff is not exactly a good idea. Regarding fire, the sub was totally not properly setup. Some kind of smoke masks which pp were untrained in is not enough. What would they do with all that smoke? Again, no training, no fire drills etc. And use of flammable stuff. Military may use things that LOOK like a game controller but cost 10x or 50x more b/c they are build to different specs.

  3. Come on, any truck can have same drag coefficient as Tesla truck - there are trucks that are sloped and in EU can have cameras for mirrors - something not legal in US (yet). There is nothing preventing a diesel truck from having much more advanced self driving capability from say Google vs. rather infant age self driving tech from Tesla.
