  1. Yes, Russians were too thin. They are still too thin. They need way more troops even for control of much more limited territory. Basically they have eaten with their eyes not their mouth (or they have bitten more then they could chew).

  3. Russians planned that withdrawal well - it is far better organized then actual moving in. I wonder how many Russian troops were moved before hand. I wonder if only shell troops were left and Ukraine did not notice. Since the troops have failed around Kiev there was little point of keeping them there. Thus it was a dry military decision. I think their mission was to encircle Kiev. But their #s where too little - they could not easily push more troops there as there was only one road. So good strategic decision. We see how the war will roll now - I expect Russians to fight more for Donbass. We do not understand Russian movement as we do not know true goals & how these are changing.
