  4. Neither they nor US is stupid enough to pay - it would mean they would be less competitive. In China you can get subsidies for high price of energy - in Canada you get a tax. This is why Canadian GDP is falling vs. rest of the world - see latest stats - then see stats from say 2010 or even 2015.

Putin keeps him on a short leash - if he were gone some other force would fill in the vacuum - better to have him clearly visible so no unknown force takes his place. Unknown == risky. This relationship ensures Navalny is quite safe in Russia.

Certainly US has excuse to take out anyone that is US adversary - I am waiting for a missile strike on Kremlin and Zhongnanhai (Chinese). Obviously anyone that does not bow to US is now on a target list. How is it "defending" US given that potentially 100s of Americans will die due to this decision? How is it defending US by destabilizing her allies for which 1000s of Americans gave their lives? How does it all benefit the interests of US nation? Or does it just benefit Trump himself... so you support a selfish president that placed his own interests before interests of the country. You sure you are American?

  8.  @darlene2709  Actually we don't anymore - most elections have huge mail in component. This means even brain dead person can change results - all you need to do is throw out bags of mail. Why do you trust "Guardian" when even grade school logic tells you its uber easy? Did you know in communist countries you also voted with pencils on ballot boxes? My dad always voted for "not recommended" candidates but never even single one of them won ;)

  9.  @johdo9953  Well, how are they putting their kids in harms way, are you suggesting government will use deadly force to attack them? Kids would only be in harms way if there is possibility of violence. Since protesters are repeating 100x they are not going to resort to it, then it must be the other side. But so far we had no evidence of police brutality or anything similar, so its hard to point to any threat. Kids are probably mostly in hotels and many may use remote learning if already in school. If things start to get ugly they can easily get out with their moms - unless government choses to attack kids / moms. So far no indication of such threat is present. Our PM may not be a smart cookie but I think there be plenty of pp that would stop him from some mass murder.

  13. Yes, but it could be captured weapon by DPR forces and maybe one or two of them lost their kids in similar attack over 2 weeks ago carried out by almost certainly Ukraine. So ... they fired it at Ukraine. Good thing would be to know whom the victims where ethnically.

  14.  @liebherr11602  Well, the military is loyal to the Queen first and foremost. I am sure most officers that may be called up are now hitting the books trying to figure out a way out of this. When dealing with Quebec military was issued rifles but no bullets (or so I was told, by the military). It will put very high strain on any military involved. I am unsure as to legality of any order telling soldiers to open fire on civilians that are unarmed. But I am sure if it came to that it would be the end of Trudeau.

What did Germans in during 1941 offensive was bad logistics and totally spent troops. Germans simply had no more power left to continue & Russians moved in fresh units from Siberia & counter attacked.

Even through Alberta accounts for the most installed new renewable power in Canada (2022) there is no way AB can be totally clean by 2035 - unless it went into heavy debt. Why is Ottawa trying to do this???

Hence why there never was any chance at UN seat - US already has a seat, no need for two. Same here, even Turkey attempted to play mediating role.   40. We need more charismatic leader then O'Toole. Liberals are very vulnerable given their terrible handling of pandemic as well as all other scandals by JT. Thus with a bit better leadership it should not be an issue to win the next elections for conservatives. One problem can be timing of such elections - Liberals may time it in such a way as to be the best for them & maybe even hold on to power. Even with some losses one cannot forget that if NDP vote with Liberals as one block there is little chance for conservatives to govern without majority.

He was in office only 4 years (he would have won 4 more but was dying of cancer). He was stripped of most of his powers and was more of a figure head. He actually run the first time with everyone knowing guy has addictions & to shock of the opponents he actually gained popularity as more antics came out --- this was middle finger to establishment from pp. At least pp know that a role of a mayor in major city can involve drinking drug addict & he would do quite well - he was too stupid to take bribes!

  50. Just so pp know, Kiev called state of emergency when Russians, in large numbers, started warming up tanks at the border & established two new republics. Our PM declared same state b/c of few hundred truckers. Let that sink in. Ukraine used the state in correct manner. Justin? He is clueless.
