Ukraine already lost the war - they cannot meet their goals. Instead of escalating the war by sending tanks to Ukraine, which would only prolong the war, a much better approach is to end the war through dialogue - less people killed. NATO idea to fight to the last Ukrainian may be good for NATO / US but certainly is not good for anyone in Europe - which Germany clearly sees. After first 100 tanks are sent, what is the grand plan? Send another 100, than another 100? We end once there are no drivers?

No. Not with our taxpayer money.

@southernstablesauto This strategy may seem correct until you look at history - it was never good to fight to the last man. Look at say Finland. They caused massive casualties on the Soviets in winter war. They managed some gains in continuation war. But than Soviets came back. Now with much better generals and much better soldiers. They kicked Fins quite hard and caused massive Finnish casualties. Fins stopped them but quickly realized that this stoppage was only b/c Soviets needed tanks for the final death push against Germany (Bagration). Fins quickly turned diplomacy on - they could have "held the line" a bit longer and die in glory - but they knew they had little chance. So they gave up all land Soviets were after in winter war, some other concessions and were free to do as they pleased. I.e. they cut their losses short. Being heroic is nice in movies etc. but not in real life. Look at Polish Warsaw uprising. Did it accomplish anything? Sure, got AK (Polish underground) totally destroyed, got Warsaw - one of the largest capitals before WWII (Had tallest building in Europe at the time) totally destroyed and caused death of 100s of thousands of civilians. All for exactly what? Good movie story? Poles in September 1939 surrendered Warsaw with little fight for exactly opposite reason - war was lost, allies did not help, why defend in capital for weeks or months with no purpose other than for 1000s to die and city get smashed?

Why Russia - maybe Ukraine could end this war? Why joining NATO is such a life and death ambition for them. Not even Cuba went to war with US as Fidel loved his country too much.

@Aaron-rw3lv And what, nukes next? Do you plan to send nukes to Ukraine? If yes, I let Putin know he should just do pre-emptive strike.
2
Followed by nukes - Russia has nukes, lets give these to Ukraine as well.
1
@Aaron-rw3lv Which was due to West breaking Germany unification memorandum.
1
@Aaron-rw3lv Like what exactly? Chemical weapons? Bio weapons? What? Give them longer range missiles? Sure so what - Russia still would fire more of them back. What do you propose that is so great? The only thing that would spin this around to a tie is full involvement of NATO. Or do you plan to give them NATO? What magical weapon systems would you give them? 1000 tanks? So? The other side also has 1000 tanks. All it would change is much longer war with many more dead. Give me a winning scenario for Ukraine.
1
@davidjacobs8558 Only fair would be for US to also respect what it signed with Russia - i.e. remove all new NATO members and say no to NATO in Ukraine ever. Wait, then Ukraine would not need nukes ;)
1
@MyPrideFlag No it was an actual clause in the reunification of Germany - i.e. Soviets allowed for the reunification under understanding that there will not be NATO troops in former East Germany and to the east of it. That was the condition of Soviets agreeing to reunification. It is an actual signed agreement.
1
Of course they already won - the fight now is over how much they won. By escalating NATO is getting nowhere but getting more people killed.
1
@Aaron-rw3lv But war cannot be won by Ukraine. Sending more arms just causes more dead on both sides.
1
@Aaron-rw3lv That cannot happen as their losses are simply to great & Russia has too much of a potential - i.e. too many people and too much working industry to arm these people. Or to put it the other way, once US got involved in WWII Germany could not win if US stayed committed to the war. Or to swing yet other way, Japan plan for WWII was to cause so many casualties initially onto US to discourage it from continuing - i.e. Japan was too weak demographically and had much smaller industrial capacity to win. Russian people are fully committed to the war & are causing much greater losses on the enemy. Thus there is no way for Ukraine to win. If Ukraine could win - one could say Japan could win also against US - but US was committed and was also causing greater losses - so ... HOW?! Note this is conventional, no nukes allowed. Also no direct involvement of NATO. However, even with NATO full involvement I assume a tie. I.e. it would go nuclear quickly and result in a tie. As you can see, Ukraine cannot win.

@Aaron-rw3lv No one wants to fight in a war - this is why you need conscription - same can be said of Ukrainian people - they do not want to fight as well. Putin does not need to lie to anyone - conscription was official - once conscripted you can be sent to the front line. Its military - it works same all over the world. What is not sustainable? Putin officially conscripted just 300k, maybe up to 500k unofficially. Quite sustainable for country size. Russian people know they need to fight or Ukrainians will keep killing their families in Donbass. Western production rates for say tanks are under 100 in all of Europe. It will take years to increase production to say 300. No orders were issued to that effect. Even if orders were made etc. Ukraine needs 1500 tanks or more per year just to keep current status. No one, maybe China, can produce that many tanks per year in short term (less thank a year) even if it was attacked or under threat - i.e. even with war measures act US cannot ramp up production to such high numbers in less than a year. Thus war is fought with what is available at the moment. I.e. with tanks that you have. Entire west has less tanks than Russia. Thus your assertion that Ukraine will have more equipment is false, even if west transferred all it has. Finally west has far less artillery systems than Russia - thus even if it transferred 100% Russia still has more. So no to more equipment. Also Russia has 7:1 demographic advantage - so even with equal losses it still wins.

@Level 70 And where is the war going on, in Russia or Ukraine? Even if Russia were to loose 100% of their territorial gains.... so what? Ukraine still lost. Even if Russia were to loose all of Crimea and Donbass and Ukraine regained all of its land, temporarily, Ukraine still lost. Why? Russia can simply retake the land. Land is only of use if it servers a purpose in war - i.e. if it brings you to your goal. There is no need for "extra land". The war is not about land after all. Russia is flexible, the can move out, they can move in etc. Take Bakhmut - Ukraine holds to the city like there was gold there. 20 brigades are stationed in and around the city. Russia is inflicting massive losses. Why such a death grip? Stalin was known for such "no step back" strategy followed by Hitler. This infuriated command around Hitler so much they tried to blow him up in a bunker & Stalin wised up after multiple failures.
1
@rv2167 Well, same can be said about Zielinski and Kiev regime. Clearly they don't want to negotiate so they need to go they way of their pal, Hitler.
1
@ElectroPunkpl LOL, not at all - the war is between US expansion to remove Russian influence & to remove it as an important country while at the same time supporting "questionable" elements (not for the first time - US would support the devil to support their goal - see the Taliban). Europe is a victim of such manipulation. If Ukraine looses - which it will - its a win for United Nations human charter. All people have the right to determine their future, be it in Donbass or Taiwan. If these are not the right of Europe - than shame on them and their luck of moral values. What union the sick idea to destroy Poland by saddling it with 3rd world Ukraine in a union? What Union without Germany - it is Germany that holds together the current union - without Germans it would quickly roll out. Besides, Poland is against "Federal state" which is the next step for EU.

@southernstablesauto I fail to see how US experience thought anyone to be the last man standing. US lost at least 4x less troops than Ukraine currently lost, adjusted or by total percentage. My grandfather fought in WWII since September 1939. He was captured, escaped from Germany, thanks to NKVD Jew captured again by the reds, escaped, spent six months as a slave for a farmer till he finally was able to join AK sometime in 1942. His less is to not die for your country but make the other guy die for his. I.e. lesson of Poland is NOT to be last man standing, as standing alone makes your victory pyrrhic. With your thinking I guess Japan should have stood firm after two nukes were dropped on it - they should have fought on. Good thing even before the nukes Emperor of Japan told his government to make peace. Or shall we say like in Polish anthem, "Jeszcze Polska nie zginela poki my zyjemy." - "Poland did not die yet till we are alive" - i.e. when we are dead there is no Poland - Poland and any other country is made by the people. This also flows into German idea of ethnic cleansing & destruction of intelligentsia - once people are gone - at least smart ones, there is no country.

@ElectroPunkpl So if you are so sure that Donbass wants to be part of Ukraine why not allow UN sponsored referendum? You know, like a normal person would suggest. Say Musk suggested no NATO expansion and referendums in all areas Russia claims. Under UN flag with verification of residency. People were wiser after great war - they had referendums - not perfect but good idea. Why not now? If you are so sure Donbass wants to be part of Ukraine, why such resistance to a free vote??!!

@zzmmz3789 Sure, everyone killed everyone else - but I do not see monuments to Jew killers in Europe! Point me to a monument of Hitler in Europe - or monument to any major person that is know to have killed Jews. How many monuments to Bandera in Ukraine? Over 200.
1
@itsyaboimirage3473 Its not random statistics - you can google, can you "Nazi collaborator monuments in Ukraine" or "Bandera mythologies and their traps for Ukraine" - no one knows exact number - same as how many statues of say Lenin were removed. But above are interesting reads to open your eyes to Nazism in Ukraine. BTW, these are western sources, first one is Jewish - well they do not like Nazi, second one is British.
