Lipstick on a pig measures - most of what could be closed is closed. Nenshi may for example close children playgrounds. Kenney did the heavy lifting by closing the schools... but Nenshi will claim he stopped the pandemic by closing playgrounds... in winter.

AB is doing about 3x as well as ON - so its not like house is on fire (look at death rate). AB rates have peaked and will stay at this peak for about a week or so and then start going down. This is natural "wave" that we have seen like 100 plus times in all over Europe and here in Canada. We have modeling software that is now quite accurate. Closing more then currently will do little now to that wave other then provide some politicians with claim points as to what they did to help and their "leadership". Key businesses and schools have been closed or will be by previous order in AB - that is at least 90%+ of all possible spread metric.

By death rate to population AB is about 1/3 of Ontario i.e. we have in AB 1/3 of the deaths per million as ON.

We have a lockdown in AB. This is why the question to Nenshi is what on earth is he going to lock down.... this is why he is so low on actual material - just hot air.

@DVinCanada Effect of these is minimal - we have closed most schools. Other provinces closed only small fashion stores and theaters - most retailers such as Walmart or Home Depot are "essential service" thus this is mostly lipstick on a pig and just a hit on the small business. Check it out yourself what is exactly closed - no big stores are closed anywhere in Canada. Did Ontario close schools? Nope. Why not?

@DVinCanada "Leaked memo says Alberta bars, restaurants will be closed to in-person dining at midnight Sunday" this will put us ahead of say ON as they have not closed schools but we did.
