  1. Ukraine will clearly not get NATO membership anytime soon if ever. One of the conditions of ending Russia - Ukraine war is no NATO. So I expect Ukraine will not enter NATO for a while.

  2. Why? In Afghanistan US had no Americans endemic to Afghanistan. In Russian Donbas most people are Russian - there are very few Ukrainians. Less than 50%.
