  1. Ukraine is free to do so as well, who is preventing them? Why Ukraine did not allow people of Donbass to be free and pursue their dreams? Do Kiev regime rights trump other rights?

  2.  @Unknownplayer0012  Exactly - all they had to do after 2014 was to just go with Minsk agreement they signed. This would mean no NATO and getting Donbass back. But by 2014 Nationalist Forces started to play more and more important role. Few pp know that Zielinski was a dictator whom had like 23% support in his country and arrested opposition. With zero support he turned to Azov and friends. By 2022 Azov and friends was one of the most powerful of forces in Ukraine - there was zero chance of any "Minsk". I think Putin should have went for it years earlier - I think hoping that Z would do something different was a pipe dream.

  3. Well, Azov is claiming to be continuation of Nazi from WWII - they claim to be their spiritual brothers. They even brought back same racial rules and are praying to dead Nazi Bandera. Not sure how much closer to a Nazi can you get.

  4. This is like Vietnam. The South Vietnam was occupied first by the French then US. Viet Cong asked N Vietnam for help so N Vietnam went in. Same here, Donbass and area asked Russia for help, so Russia went in to help these people out. Putin also plans to take some extra land as payment for his trouble. Its a civil war, Russia supports one side, West the other. If you are a democrat you should support free elections, like after WWI, which would determine status of each territory in Ukraine & transfer all these that want to be in Russia, or independent out of it. We resolved similar issue with Quebec in Canada - if Quebec wants to leave - door is open, we will not sent tanks, like Ukraine, to keep them in Canada by force. Same for any other province.

  8. LOL what allies? it is 1941 we are talking about. By the time Germans were near Moscow first aid was arriving - not yet even close to implementing it. What did Germans in during 1941 offensive was bad logistics and totally spent troops. Germans simply had no more power left to continue & Russians moved in fresh units from Siberia & counter attacked.

  12.  @sunkeet230  Why not do as after WWI - when each region of defeated powers had to pick where they will belong. If this was done after dissolution of Soviet Union it would prevent like 10 wars. It could have been done after 2014. Heck Russia just wanted them to be nice to Russians and not join NATO but keep the land.

  13.  @sunkeet230  Catalonia is a clear example of EU double standard. Catalonia is very rich and its secession from Spain would weaken Spain a lot. So they opted to keep them, by force if needed. Donbass is also the richest part of Ukraine...
