They do let US speak....
34
Not really, Crimea is a fortress - not just the peninsula itself but the land bridge.
13
The boat has partially sailed. Russia does not care about any sanctions - even "severe ones" or "super sanctions" etc. They can completely 100% cut themselves off from the West, as much as Soviets did or more. Main failure is by Germany to not have pushed Ukraine, through sanctions, to force Minsk implementation. Now Minsk is dead. Most likely move by Russia will be to either keep current status or create East Ukraine.

This woman has no clue what she talks about. No one in Moscow expects to get a written note saying "No NATO for Ukraine". They simply signaling their displeasure with a movement that will limit or remove their sovereign right. We have similar situation to Cuban missile crisis. Main problem here is that no one is her to stop US as EU is too weak to just say no. If not for US involvement we would not have had any events past 2014.
9
Must say refreshingly honest news. Shocking.
9
Why... why would Russia go into Poland when it does not even want all of Ukraine?
9
Yep, after failed UA offensive where he will point out they won some land back and lost 20 brigades worth of troops for it.
8
God is with the stronger legions. These do not include UA.
8
Maybe cannibalism?
8
Germany needs to re-start teaching Russian at school. Can be of great use.
8
Sure, but UA refuses to.
8
OK, no issues - court proceedings will be fun and touch one sided. Imagine Zielinski life sentence in penal colony out near Chinse border!
6
Well, it is true. Anyone in basic politics knows this - more specifically it was made in US. Come on, its like politics 101.
6
Its 42t - quite heavy for no armor tank. Each ton of scrap is around 200 USD. So scrap value is about 8500 USD. So they got it for about 2x scrap value. I wonder if engines were included and optics - probably not.
6
Sure, we have some accounts. A woman was working at the complex. She was taken by soldiers, told to stay in the bunker and not move out. Any attempts to leave were met with threats. She actually said this to German TV and it was promptly taken off! Then only 1/3 of the interview was shown where she talks about bombs!
5
Well, he moved in rather quick - I thought he will give it more a chance, but then again, chance was for 8 years. Now was finally time to act. They had 8 years to prepare for this day - we see how it all plays out when the dust settles. Almost all major EU/US sanctions could have been predicted so we see how Russia responds. On the ground so far they are doing great. Ukrainian defenses collapsed like deck of cards.

Notice the damage to the tank would be as critical if it was latest Leopard 2 tank - shrapnel damaged the barrel - it would not matter if it was T-72 from 1980s or latest western tank from 2010. Ukraine needs to open negotiations - they are clearly loosing the war and it does not make sense to continue hoping for a miracle. Only thing that can happen is loosing more people and more land.
4
At this rate Taliban may have 90% of the country including Kabul by end of this year. They end up better then before 9/11! It feels they have more pp support then in 1990s! It feels vast majority of Afghans support the Taliban. The government in Kabul has little support from their own pp and relies on the west.
4
@cfosnock For Ukraine to win they would need a steady supply of tanks, IFV, artillery and manpower. In short win is not possible unless Russia lets them win - which seems not possible. As for Leopards Ukraine would need all of them over say next year to stay in the fight and be competitive. Even with ALL leopards they would loose eventually as there simply is not enough of them in the long term.
4
Maybe they should do that when US rep speaks - he is more likely on crack - its more common in US ;))))))))))
4
Here, we re-draw map of Europe through war ---- west cheers when done by US. Here, we re-draw map of Europe through war ---- west booos when done by Russia. These who do it matter ;))))))))))))
4
But not most of the planet.
3
That is more like US and EU.
3
@SirChronoCfdgaM Nope. America.
3
@plaugemarine Why, he will be watching the court proceedings from Kremlin.
3
No chance of that happening. I am quite sure through that Nikolaiv and Odessa may not be in Ukrainian hands for long.
3
And so far other then heavy losses not much to show for it!
3
LOL, like western panther tanks changed the tide in WWII during battle of Kursk ;)))
3
@SpikeyMikey341 God is righteous and thus he is with Russia for they fight for freedom.
3
Nah, like 60.
3
Given how Russia works they have more or less unlimited number of shells and unlimited number of spare barrels that can be re-sleeved. I would not worry about that at all.
3
They are retreating forward ;)
3
Not at all. This will end badly for Ecuador.
3
Very happy for billions.
3
Conscripts before even basic training. What do you expect?
3
@cfosnock Why would Ukraine fall quicker when they use Leopards? I do not think two battalions of these tanks will slow down or speed up UA defeat. Their number is too small to make a difference either way.
3
@cfosnock Yep, multiple brigades and only 15 tanks ;) 100s of vehicles destroyed - maybe close to a 1000. Maybe they had other tanks as well - like maybe T-64? Have you ever considered that? What about well over a 100 of Polish supplied T-72s that took part - forgot about these?
3
@cfosnock FYI NATO is supplying less and less. During 1st year of the war, its 600, 2nd year its maybe 300, 3rd year what - 150??? Supply of new artillery dropped to more or less none in 2nd year of the war. Problems with ammo are so huge any new artillery seems to be ancient stuff such as 105mm. Russia does not need total war - it is winning right now with limited war. It is firing 5-6x as many artillery shells & uses its air power 10x as much. There is no need to get more pp at them moment - but always can if needed. If they had more tanks than Russia (LOL) they would go on attack ;) There was a video of Russian T-55s being moved but no report of any T-55s being actually used by Russia in Ukraine. How is it that Ukraine will get Leopard 1 - and suddenly that is seen as "good" and "Ukraine not running out" but similar move from Russia is seen as act of desperation? Russia knew of both Finland and Sweden NATO pledge and simply ignored it. You do not see or hear much stir in Russia regarding this development. Both of these countries were western aligned and unofficially in NATO since 1992. Does not change much for Russia at all.
3
Spot on. International law is only of "value" if it is not broken by the US.
3
And just like that they will have Russian base instead on top of bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers.
3
Lets hope they let them go free on the streets of Mariupol. I wonder how far locals would let them go? What do you think?
3
LOL! I know you mean he will be thrown out - in reality he will be promoted.
3
@jedimaster1445 Plus there are reports now and witness statements that Azov snipers intentionally killed civilians!
3
Nah I am hoping a large offensive in the next few weeks will put Kiev out of its misery. But it could go on for another year - they may fight beyond Dniepr river and force Russia to go all the way to Polish border - so it could be 3 years.
3
Yep, UA is on the ropes now... but they may fight to the last Ukrainian - so may be still years till the end.
3
Yep, German tanks going to Moscow ... how did it work out last time ;)
2
Not really, battle of say Aleppo took like 1.5 years. Before final victory there was large counter offensive, which gained a lot of ground before fizzing out and being rolled back quickly.
2
Nah, they have hostages - they already asked for food and water or hostages get it.
2
Who US?
2
Roughly 75 of the city has been liberated. Once all is taken we see what Russia will do, rest or continue to Chasiv yar.
