Comments by "" (@tomk3732) on "How Ukraine's ammunition shortage is hitting morale | DW News" video.
Notice the damage to the tank would be as critical if it was latest Leopard 2 tank - shrapnel damaged the barrel - it would not matter if it was T-72 from 1980s or latest western tank from 2010. Ukraine needs to open negotiations - they are clearly loosing the war and it does not make sense to continue hoping for a miracle. Only thing that can happen is loosing more people and more land.

Yeah, do not hold your breath for that to happen ;)
2
@vancebison Correct. If you had weapons you would use them to defend at the very least.
2
@Dannyboy16434 No one ;)
2
There has not even been a move to open up old factories. Why bother - Ukraine will loose the war anyways. No need to spend too much money and sending good money after bad.
2
Certainly not to shovels - looks like sticks...
1
Yes, heck even more. Russia from the start had far more drones - and now they are using a lot more smart weapons.
1
@thecatthinks It is fight for US interests - certainly not for German ones or EU. For EU it is fight against one's interests.
1
The Russian advantage since 3rd month of the war was / is constant at around 6x.
1
Russia is sending 20,000 - 30,000 per day.
1
Yep - the use of Russian JDAM is ramping up. We should see more use of Tornado missiles with guidance as well - sort of like long range Himars.
1
@D.A.OhK. You mean Ukrainian.
1
@Chogy1 Wait, Russia did win the war with Finland - Finland capitulated. Learn some history.
1
@libertarian4323 Not really - most of this is from 1970s and very accurate. Seen Russian artillery drone controlled take out single Ukrainian soldiers in trenches.
1
@libertarian4323 Actually on video I saw dozens of rounds - most missed but some scored a hit. Not edited. The can get lucky - artillery with dumb rounds can be quite precise. Or they can use guided ammo. 1970s and 1980s era artillery is roughly as precise as modern stuff - main difference is range - usually the barrels are longer and there can be changes in max pressure of the chamber. 1970s /1980s era artillery can be easily upgraded with things such as round velocity computer, GPS, ballistic computer etc. Old Soviet stuff is frequently upgraded - it is not expensive upgrade. D-20 howitzer is a post WWII design. its not 1970s nor 1980s it is 1950s.
1
@libertarian4323 Sure, US sent some 105mm guns - so what is your point exactly? That old stuff is used in secondary roles? D-20 is mostly used by units of DPR and territorial defense on Russian side. T-62s are mostly block tanks / guard tanks / assault guns. Not sure how does that invalidate my point. US flies some bombers that are well over 50 year old - does that mean US air force is junk?

Where is Ukraine asks Putin? Third place.
1
@crusadinghours3505 It is - both sides have military casualties combined of well over a million. Ukraine alone is close to a million by now - some counted twice.
1
@crusadinghours3505 You have about 5 wounded per one KIA for UA side / militias and about 7:1 for Russian side / Wagner. Plus you have killed and wounded on civilian side, probably closer to 1:10 ratio here. So civilian side is at last 100k. No military, for Ukraine that would be at least 150k KIA so at least 750k wounded. For Russian side, without militias it is now 17,000 and x7 it is 120k. Double that for militias and you get Russian side under 300k. So together about a million plus. I ignore what both MOD say - these are joke numbers.
1
@nenasiek No - only UA side has. Russia is doing well. They have shovel rockets ;)
1
Well, Ukraine is on the ropes - and Putin is the one pushing it there.
1
Why? So war can continue? Stop all aid and force end now. Before there is still some Ukraine left.
1
@218Flow The aid did provide collapse but as Russians pointed out there is no path to Ukrainian victory so in a twisted fate the aid actually helped to destroy more of Ukraine and caused more dead people.
1
LOL, where will they get millions of shells from? Maybe they use shovels? Look at how many shells they received from NATO - what you say is not possible. Also the spring / summer offensive seems like a suicide mission - its collapse may end the war this year with some major advance by Russia.

@victory-ukraine Bakhmut is part of Donetsk. Democracy is when you fight for freedom. Freedom for Donbass.

@ЯБезымянный-о5ф Nothing. Corruption?
1
@Spots Corner These 23m are rifle ammo ;))) US current production per YEAR is 180,000 shells. YEAR.
