Comments by "" (@tomk3732) on "Russia-US talks on Ukraine: How real is threat of invasion? | DW News" video.
This woman has no clue what she talks about. No one in Moscow expects to get a written note saying "No NATO for Ukraine". They simply signaling their displeasure with a movement that will limit or remove their sovereign right. We have similar situation to Cuban missile crisis. Main problem here is that no one is her to stop US as EU is too weak to just say no. If not for US involvement we would not have had any events past 2014.

And just like that they will have Russian base instead on top of bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers.

Why would NATO get involved? You want nuclear war? If NATO forcibly went into Ukraine Russia would have no choice but to invade & fighting NATO would very quickly turn to nukes. When US was in similar situation with Cuba everyone was totally OK nuking Cuban pp - yet now when cards are reversed somehow view is different?
2
@siralexis6590 NATO is a form of US control and is fully run by US.
2
Also NATO, we will invade Cuba if there is even single missile operational there. With nukes, if needed.
2
Russia by any means necessary needs to make 100% sure that Ukraine is not in NATO and there are no NATO missiles in Ukraine. It is somewhat similar to Cuban missile crisis - US was ready to invade Cuba. Same here, Russia is ready to invade Ukraine. With US missiles in Ukraine or Ukraine in NATO (and thus missiles coming soon) Russia will loose it sovereign position. Thus it is the duty of every Russian president to prevent such turn of events. Of course it is the duty of US to make sure they keep Russia low and weak, same as China, by any and all means necessary. If it means sacrificing some Ukrainians so be it.
2
Actually joining EU is OK - Ukraine can join EU in say 50 years, preferably also customs union with Russia. That is not existential threat to Russia beyond Ukraine growing rich and thus hard to invade. However, given last 30+ years I think Russia has nothing to worry about for another 50+. As for NATO its not just joining NATO - its NATO presence - imagine missiles in Ukraine, same as missiles in Cuba! That needs to be stopped by any means, including war.

Someone needs to tell Zielinski that Russia is a sovereign state and it will remove that NATO attempt of Ukraine by force. Why does Ukraine want war so much? Is it in Ukraine's interest? No. So why? Why not trade with Russia? Why doesn't Ukraine want peaceful relations? Or maybe Ukraine wants but someone that pulls the levers of power somewhere does not want? Same in Poland, US ambassador went to Polish president TWICE in one day. Reminding him what decision was made in Washington. This is worse then when Tsar was a king of Poland and there was no Poland.

@gothenmosph5151 Russia did keep that promise till 2014 - notice what occurred in 2014. US took over & Ukraine no longer was unaligned - it switched to the enemy.
1
@ЛевЛевый-ж2щ Re read 2014 and why Russia took Crimea. Again, check again WHY. The non block status was violated.
1
@gothenmosph5151 Canada alone has 100 troops plus and was planning to increase to 200. There are few thousand NATO troops in Ukraine right now. Canada is not a sovereign state. Its a play thing of the US.

@winstonmaraj8029 Piolsudski would certainly deal hard with Russia but would immediately kick out half of US diplomats as well. He would also snake around between Russia and German. Going from one to the other. Certainly there would be little thought of any wars.
1
@siralexis6590 Why would US "protect" smaller nations for free? Its "protection" is same as Russian protection of say Tajikistan from China - its just a sphere of control.
1
@Warsie What he means is US wants to control Russia. Like it wanted to control Afghanistan.
1
Control. With missiles there Russia's hand internationally will be very weak. NATO == US.
1
@Юрий & Ко No one kicked anyone out of Crimea as 70-80% of soldiers joined Russia. It was the most peaceful transfer of land ever.
1
On has to remember WHY there was the territorial note in that memorandum. Initially Russia refused to give Crimea to Ukraine. But in order for Ukraine to disarm they had to give it up - also Yeltsin was a non leader. So Russia lost Crimea in exchange for a base they were to keep there and for UK loosing nukes. Fast forward to 2014 - UK, under US "help" started to take "Crimea" away completely from Russia. Putin, seeing turmoil and possibility of Ukraine fully being taken over US made 100% correct decision to cut his losses and take Crimea back. Also started Donbass thing - with good help of Ukraine. All Russian moves were in response to Ukraine doing pro US politics not pro Ukraine.
1
@Gray_ninja There was no Crimean in Ukrainian possession in 1918 - 1919 - not even close for both WUPR and UNR. If you are referring to "Ukrainian State" that existed in 1918 - "covered most of the territory of modern-day Ukraine—minus West Ukraine and Crimea." Crimea was Crimean Regional Government in 1918. "The first Crimean Regional Government was established on 25 June 1918. It was formed under German protection with Lipka Tatar General Maciej (Suleyman) Sulkiewicz as prime minister, minister of interior and military affairs. There were efforts by Ukraine to exert control over Crimea but, with German support, the regional government remained separate from Ukraine though, in September and October, there were talks to effect a federation of the two."
1
No. Unless you made more then half of Ukraine into such zone.
1
Expansion? He does not even want Donbass and its filled with Russians. Even if Ukraine disbanded its army there is no "expansion". Who wants poorest nation in Europe? Russia would bankrupt itself trying to bring them up to their low standard. Putin would be out of the job.
1
If he wanted land bridge he would not pay billions for ... actual bridge. Also he could have had one in 2014. Not needed.
1
@AaSs-ln9mm Russia said it was OK for Ukraine to join EU - something that is much further away then NATO push by the US.
1
@stefanweisshappel364 Golden Horde were Tatars that lived in Crimea and invaded Poland (now Ukraine).
1
They may not be at the border. It is strange that tanks well all nicely lined up when satellite went over.
1
@abc-eq9so Spot on, US will weaken Russia with Ukrainian blood and EU $.
1
Third party == US.
