@bmarcy86 Not true - I had leaf spring break - in Toyota Tacoma. Toyota admitted their stock leaf springs were garbage and after some threats from owners decided to replace all leaf springs with new ones. The side that has a broken leaf simply sags and its not a great ride + you cannot carry any load. Others got broken leaf while off roading - it simply means end of a day.
