  1. Russia also has a lot of intel from civilians of occupied territories - why wouldn't they have such intel? Both sides are heavily minded. Its just Russia is smart enough not to attack such heavily mined front line.

  2. This is far worse then the spit - there Russians had poor access - here there is a large city nearby with excellent access. So this is far more suicidal. But hey, even CNN wrote about this success! Its good for PR!

  3. Total victory! Ukraine was unable to retreat and troops were wiped out - expect Russian westward movement for next few weeks and desperate Ukraine attempts to stop it.

  5. I think way, way too much emphasis is placed on the "hills" - these are not real "Hills" - they are almost all under 100m and very gentle. It is a bit of a rolling terrain - but mostly flat. A hill of note would be one that would be at least few hundred meters above some terrain it controls. And such hill would had to have decent gradient - say more than 15 degrees.

  8.  @rainieresguerra4780  They are out of tanks as no one can see them having too many tanks. I.e. their losses are becoming catastrophic. NATO estimated that by June Ukraine lost 50% of their armored fist. So by December they should be at 100%.+ What will few dozen modern tanks do??? They are killed off mostly by artillery and here it does not matter what type of tank you have - both get killed.

  15. No. Cannot last that long. Ukraine will run out of men in about 4 years, max 5 if they use a lot of women. And by run out they will be forced into regime change or concession till Dniepr river. Realistically war should end by spring 2024.

  19.  @fh5926  Yes, they want to be liberated from Kiev regime - so obviously they support Russia. I.e. Ukrainian spies are quickly eliminated by hostile local population. Reason why Russia did not attack Zaporozia is mines - clearly not their own mines - but UA mines. See brief attack on Vulhedar - 30 vehicles in 2 days. Mines. UA mines. Russia is comfortably holding on and letting idiots bleed out. The more time passes the weaker UA position is. Soon their only option will be unconditional surrender. As soon as UA failed to negotiate at the beginning I called the war for Russia.
