  1. Russians are now assaulting Seversk! They are now moving like 10km per day and are only limited in the amount of oil in their tanks fuel tank! At this rate they take whole of Donbass in few weeks. The question now is what will Russia do next? Run towards Dniepr river? Take Kharkiv? Maybe Odessa?

  4. What battle? Soledar was liberated by advancing paratroopers from the south and Wagner group from the north. There are few hundred Ukrainians in the caves still somewhere in the area. Russian forces are now advancing west and fight is for the villages to the rear of Soledar. Ukraine tried to counter attack with disorganized forces and it suffered very heavy losses.

  6. The plan is huge but it is just negotiation gimmick - they made it huge so there is a lot of room to drop. People will not be able to handle such a huge expensive bill as presented - especially given the load will be on the middle class alone.   7. Essentially Russia and west had a deal but west did not implement much of the deal so after waiting for a while Russia pulled out. Also Ukraine grain did not go to Africa... So nothing in this deal has worked. Russia needs to be careful as even if UA grain did not go to Africa it went somewhere - maybe to pigs in Spain --- but it still was lowering prices. I would discount any Ukraine claims of hitting civilian ships - they have little means - mostly drones & they have to careful of which country flag they hit. Similar threat is a problem for Russia - they cannot really attack ships - they just trash the port instead.

But I predict all things point out to Russia declaring war on Ukraine after it annexes at least Donbass & thus allowing for full mobilization. We should see slow signs of Russia and allies going on the offensive in about a month later, with crushing Ukrainian defeats later on - maybe a huge spring offensive. Of course this will destroy Russian economy and set the country back a decade.

  50. 90% it was an accident or malfunction. 10% missile hit. One has to remember recently a large US helicopter carrier burned down. Before that few years ago, a US submarine burned down. Very recently Iranian ship burned down. And none of these were in combat. We see once its in port - it should be rather clear if it was a missile or just simply internal explosion. Ship is out of action for at least a month or more. Its old, may not even get fixed if its too damaged. Ship only used its main guns to shell shore, it does not have kalibr missiles that are actually used to precision hit UA targets.

There is no "human right" to plinking or target shooting. So one can simply ban all non rim fire rifles. Then in few years even rim fire. As to people up north that need a rifle to protect vs. polar bear or something - they are so niche that I guess they simply will have to go back to what pp did before firearms. Wait till there is a law about assault bows. And too dangerous arrows or something. Its like banning cars - there is no need for them, when you think about it - people were fine before cars were a thing. The problem with semis and hunting or plinking is that the argument they are "not needed" is not the same as "not of much use". For full auto the main use is showing off and spray and pray + trench/ room clearing. There is not much use case in hunting - no one every hunted on full auto. However, semi auto use is quite widespread and is of utility. Even in military almost all fire is semi auto. Incidentally this is why the name of "assault" rifle is derived from - they were used to "assault" enemy position - see note about trench clearing (or room clearing etc.). Clearly there is little utility in civilian world - not at all the same for semi auto.

This is the most popular rifle in Canada. Obviously some crime with it will happen. Its like banning most popular car -- b/c lots of accidents happen with its involvement. You need special license and then you need to buy one. It takes many months of checks. Prices are usually around 50k and up. For 50k you get semi working AK-47 that was discarded in Africa.

I admit that in Kherson and Zaporozia a lot of Ukrainians would need to leave to make it pro Russia - BUT a lot of them did leave & a lot of Russians from other areas came in. So pre war it would be against Russia by around 30 - 70. In Donbass I expected pre-war to be around 60-40 for. In Crimea I expected it in 2014 to be around 70-30 for. Essentially Donbass does not want to be in Ukraine. So why force it? Should we force Taiwan to belong to mainland?

If still the same fly into US close to the border, send most of your stuff UPS to home & cross land border after getting PCR test in the US (takes 3-4h and costs at least 60 USD) - some cabs will be involved. The 3 day hotel stay is similar to jail - they will refuse any medical help unless it is really necessary & if they drive you to hospital you need to pay very high rates for both destinations to and from hotel plus wait time - so make sure you are really sick or your bill will creep to 2000 or over after 3 days. Make sure you tell them that where you are staying in Canada has no old people and you have your own room or apartment etc. Or you get 14 days hotel that can be like 6000 CAD.

  172.  @The31stcenturyfox  If they were scared of missiles they would not be at sea at all. Missiles have long range, 250km. Say this is max, so actual combat danger zone with radar is say 100km. Ship was well within that, between 60-80km away. So they do not seem to be that afraid of these missiles. Far more likely is a) they were taking out a TB2 drone (as stated) and one of the missiles mis-fired, exploded and detonated all other missiles in the system causing a fire. b) they hit one of these floating mines. c) some other accident with ammo handling. d) friendly fire - one of the escorts was firing on something and hit cruiser causing explosion. Russian reporting is quite reliable when compared to Ukrainian. Besides we see the ship in port to be sure. I say chances of actual missile hit are at most 10%. What "retaliatory fire" by whom? These are ships not aircraft that have such capability. What "saturation" fire - if there was one, and they fired all they got, they would have shown us a video of all these missiles going off. They fired all their missiles and did not take PR video? LOL!

  178. Well it is still dangerous for Chinese - if it was not they would not keep large stick in the store. It was very safe for me - both Chinese and Uighurs liked me. I did not like the fact that China turned off my SIM card like one week after I paid for it for security reasons as well as all other westerners. They wanted a mountain of paperwork & none of us had working phone. It made mountain unsafe. I doubt your life expectancy numbers are correct - locals in Kashi lived very cramped conditions like in India + I did not see too many people over 60 - I don't think the "room" to 4 people is exactly "very well" or new "development" where yurts are replaced by one room housing as "very well".

Sure some civilian targets are hit by downed missile, by AA missile, by even malfunction. But you do not hear about 149 other targets that exploded with fanfare of blown ammo. Its plain propaganda. Ask yourself how is it that Russia kills 10x less people per missile than Israel per bomb? And even with Israel notice that 25,000t of bomb were dropped - yet US killed in single raid on Tokyo during WWII with only 250 bombers dropping less than 1/10 of that! Clearly you see that Russia is not even close to targeting civilians. In fact, out of all modern conflicts Russia is causing the least civilian casualties.

During bombing of Tokyo 100k were killed in single attack. US used 2000 bombs for 50 killed per bomb. In Gaza, we have Israel dropping bombs, 40% unguided, achieving roughly 5 kills per bomb. Russia used 150 plus missiles and caused less than 50 casulties, resulting in a ratio of under 0.3. This proves Russia is running the war with minimal targeting of civilians. If Russia killed as many as US during WWII, Ukriane would have lost well over a million civilians by now.

If you are in Edmonton it would be cheaper to take a cab to the border and cab (!!!) to Calgary and rent a car Calgary - Edmonton - heck even fly to Edmonton. Fly to Montana is a bit more expensive - expect to pay like $200 CAD more then say Edmonton - then a cab to border can be 100, then cab from border to some place where you can get a car or some family member can pick you up - 100. Rental say 100 plus.... overall you are saving at least 800. Way, way cheaper. Also if you factor in that you can work from home in Edmonton for 3 days and get paid... wow. now you are well over $1000 saved. Just do the math. I am from Calgary.

This is why stores are correct in refusing to get their employees to bag into unknown bags. Gloves are thrown out each time they are taken off - no reuse. Treat virus on surfaces as fresh paint. Most pp have no clue how to use PPE correctly. As to single use utensils they are sort of needed for few restaurants to survive as they are mostly takeout now. Thus after visiting a store it is important to either throw gloves away (expensive) or not use gloves and immediately disinfect before touching stuff. Even food packaging is a vector.

People are getting tired of his show, beginning for more, not being grateful for what he got etc. He does not know how to run a country at all & was thus very weak before the war, resorting to arresting his rivals to stay in power. Then he made fatal mistake, to save his skin he started to be more and more friendly to nationalists. All good and all but this tied his hands completely. He simply is good at acting but gets way too easily out maneuvered in political waters. I have enough intelligence for sure, but my writing skills are rather weak. This is the main obstacle to writing a book - you need to have some artistic flare and ability to write compelling book that would be interesting and fun to read. I do write a lot, but its mostly technical stuff, cut and dry, like cardboard, that people read when forced to, not b/c they want to read it.

Flying invalidates PCR test - even for less then an hour. Obviously a joke - flying does not make you sick from covid or invalidates recent test results - just luck of planning.
