He was first secretary not president. He would absolutely do what Putin did. Not if and buts about it. He also would be shocked by the fact US would push the issue given that he let go in Cuba.

She has to have US perception of Russia so it fits well with CNN - come on you must understand this. If she said the truth it would be confusing for average American.

Nah, Russia is to strong to need to use nukes.

Of course they want peace. But that peace can only be assured through war. No one wants to die, but sometimes you have no choice, if you want your family, friends, country to survive.

LOL!

Yeah, support Nazi Banderas as well - certainly worked so well before WWII did it not?

Not really - I say not at all - its the west that tries to paint such strange picture of Putin. When there were protests in last 10 years in the east Putin was always super reluctant to do anything about it and frequently refused to send any police help. He could have easily rebuild that part of Soviet Union yet he never even moved a finger to do so.

Off ramp is for Ukraine to say firmly no to NATO and for NATO to say so firmly in writing.

Yeah, meanwhile in the Baltic states they banned Russian language in all public spaces. In other places there are acts to confiscate property from middle class Russians. Money in Euros that people had is removed from their pockets when they go back to Russia - even few hundred. Anyone of Russian ethnic background is discriminated against - heavily and was in some places for decades. What future?
1
And notice back then Soviets backed DOWN. Today US did not back DOWN. If Soviets were like US today we would have had Cuban war.
1
Probably Russia mobilizes enough troops to force Ukraine to terms or run them over.

Not at all. The replacements would continue the war as it is in the best interest of Russia and her people. The only replacement of Putin would be a general that would say "I will finish this war in one week" and in that week atom rained on Ukraine. A bit extreme but you get the point.

@calebmauer1751 Sure the next leader will blame the previous leader for "poorly run war". But leaving Ukraine is not on the able without goal of the operation - which is keeping NATO out of Ukraine. Its not about any land - land which by Minsk agreement was to go back to Ukraine (!) As you see - there is no easy way out - Russia needs to fight the war to keep NATO out & it needs NATO out to still be counted as at least regional power. If NATO is allowed to enter Ukraine, Russia may as well remove itself from security council, break up or join China. This is why this war will continue until US no longer wishes to expand NATO or Russia wins.
1
@calebmauer1751 Russia cannot loose. They can only win in different styles. Or put it this way, its a non optional war with 5x as much population and nukes. Loosing is not possible. Unless maybe Russia appears to loose (like Cuban missile crisis).
1
Nah, waste of time for both.
1
By same account in US 5% support Biden, 70% don't care and 25% are against. The left alone vote for Putin.
1
Sure, they need to elect general armagedon to be a new leader - one that is not going to super slowly escalate this.
1
It does not matter if Ukraine likes or does not like the war - the war is to stop NATO. You have no clue what the war is about.
1
Neither will Russian people or Russia as a country. Victory at any cost.

Note she is speaking like a mouth peace of western propaganda & is speaking of what west wants to hear. The war could have been easily avoided if US agreed to no NATO at Russian border. Same way Soviets agreed to no Warsaw pact in Cuba. But now we have a war b/c US said we will force NATO. So Putin correctly went to war as that was the only way he could assure Russia sovereign right. Any sane Russian knows that they need to fight this war and fight till victory or face possible end of free Russia. Thus, if it comes to nukes will be used as last resort, but before that we see total mobilization & full move of the economy to war footing.
