Crappy car manufacturers do this - like Mini / anything made in UK / half of EU. If you want a car that lasts get a Toyota or any US made pickup, especially Ford. Anyone that knows a bit about cars in Canada/ US knows that Mini == junk same as Chrysler == junk. No one would keep one over 60k miles or 100k km. Also Korean brands such as Hyundai and KIA are ok only for up to 100k miles or 150k km. You want stuff to last 20 years? Toyota or pickup.
