I saw a photo of the children in my once junior school the other day. It was st Luke’s, a Church of England school, and a very good school with a brilliant teacher in the final class called Miss Douglas who taught all subjects and was a fabulous music teacher too. Our choir sang at Westminster Hall every year..fab. The photo shocked me, only because, when o was there (a long time ago) we were all white English children, now each child is black…it was just a surprise, and I’ve no idea what the standard is like. I kept in touch with the brilliant teacher who taught us 10-11 years old, until last year. She was 98 and a real trooper.
